I would like to correct the message I have posted a few hours ago. The
right text would be:

I am looking for SOTET Balazs's son. He has visited my mother many
years ago but she hasn't told me about the existence of my cousin.
Please contact me. I would like to hear either >from him or any family
he has either as his children, wife or relatives on his mother's side.
I am Sotet Balazs's niece. He was my father's brother
Thanks

This book was published in 1924. This is the title I found
on google books while searching informations about a rabbi
David, ABD Piantki, at the beginning of the 19th century,
and who might be my ancestor, rabbi David Hendles, ABD
Piantki at about the same period.
The google reference mentions a match at page 4 but shows
the beginning of a page numbered 6.
Any indication on how I could get a copy or information
about this or these relevant pages would be welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help and Hag Sameah.

JewishGen Discussion Group #JewishGen NARA-Pacific Region (Laguna Niguel) is moving #general

Joel Weintraub

As you know, I volunteer at NARA Laguna Niguel, California. I have done so
for 8 or so years.

The staff here was told a few weeks ago that NARA-Pacific Region (Laguna
Niguel)
http://www.archives.gov/pacific/archives/laguna/finding-aids/holdings.html
will be moved to Perris, California. They will join a NARA facility that
presently specializes only with federal courts. See:
http://www.archives.gov/pacific/riverside/
for the Perris facility.

It's not clear when the move will happen or be completed, or that it
actually will occur, but today staff was measuring tables and it does look
like a firm decision has been made. I wouldn't be surprised if the Laguna
Niguel facility ceases operation no later than summer 2010.

This is clearly a cost-cutting move. The new location will open up the
Inland Empire to access a NARA branch, and may not add that much commute
time to get to the Pacific Region branch >from San Diego or Los Angeles
Counties, but will negatively impact Orange County residents (and my own
ability to volunteer). This NARA branch serves Arizona, southern
California, and Clark County Nevada's federal records.

Ruth Frank <ruth@...>

No More Tears Left Behind is the story of my mother, Eva Deutschkron,
and father's life during WWII as a Jews hiding in Berlin. This is a
different Holocaust story as the were never in a concentration camp.
Mom worked with the authors, Arthur and Ursula Rathburn for over a
year on this book. It will be available at [book stores] or I have a
few copies.

It had never occured to me that there may be records for stillborn babies.
Would anyone know if any such records exist in the UK, and where would you
start the search?

My mother had a stillborn boy before me.

Lithuania SIG #Lithuania Identification of a revolutionary society on Viewmate #lithuania

Nicole BERLINE <nberline@...>

Dear Litvaksig friends

My great grand father Salomon Elie BERLIN was born in Derechin (now
Belarus) on 23 november 1857.

I posted on Viewmate a photograph which was taken in Kovno , around
1880. The photo shows Salomon (top right) together with three
colleagues about whom we know nothing. The handwriting in French on the
back side simply states that Salomon is top right. In the hands of one
of his colleagues is a file showing, in cyrillic characters, ODRR.

Would anyone know what these letters stand for ?

We have indications that it could be the acronym of a revolutionary
organisation active around that period of time.

To see the viewmate photo, you may click on the link

http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=12527

The photo will stay on viewmate for 7 days.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and best regards.
