Several of my mother's siblings stopped in England before coming to the

Does anyone on this list know of any websites where I could search for

Thank you.

Need help with Russian translation (ViewMate) #belarus

Robert Mandelbaum

I've just received a response to a request for records that I made to a
Russian archives. The response consists of a cover letter, a two-page form
of some kind, and a bill (in English). I've posted all four pages (although
only the first three need a translation) to the JewishGen ViewMate web site
at <http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/toview.html>. The particular file
numbers of the cover letter, the two pages of the form, and the bill are,
respectively, VM1181, VM1182, VM1183, and VM1184, which can be accessed
directly by going to
<http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/source/vm1181.html>,
<http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/source/vm1182.html>,
<http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/source/vm1183.html>, and
<http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/ALL/source/vm1184.html>, respectively.
Would anyone be willing and able to translate these for me? Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Please e-mail any responses directly to me at

Thank you very much,

Chiah Surah Fox - Brest Litovsk area - about 1850 #belarus

Eileen Price <eileen.price@...>

Chiah Surah FOX had a daughter, Hannah Gittel FOX.
Hannah Gittel married Solomon Wolski, my great uncle. They left Brest
Litovsk and moved to Cleveland, Ohio. Hannah was born in 1874.
Chiah Surah's second husband was a Mr. Weisbrode. Their son Mordecai
married Rivka. last name unknown. Their children were Marten, Annie, Jack
and Esther.
In the 1910 U.S. census records, I found Joseph Spatsky, age 18 and Rebecca
Fox, age 18, living in the household of Solomon Wolski, listed as cousins.
Both were born in Russia.
If anyone knows anything regarding the persons mentioned in this message, I
would be grateful if you would reply privately to me.
