Chasidei Aish V'Or #rabbinic

Miriam Korsinsky <miriam@...>

Read recently that Rav Binyamin Kamader (Rapaport) along with
the Stropkover Rav were members of the chasidei Aish V'Or group.
I would like more information about this group and its history
as my second great grandfather Yosef Eliyahu Rosenberg was
likely a member.

Thank you.

Recently, I found a very useful site entitled "Routes of Sefarad",
http://www.redjuderias.org/google/index.php?l=en, which is powered
by Google technology.

It is a remarkable interactive multimedia experience that introduces
researchers to Jewish life in Spain. It contains 24 cities which
had Juderias or Jewish quarters or just areas of Jewish influence,
523 places, 910 chronological registers, 1.683 images, 68
supplementary texts, and 138 commented Lexical terms.

Well worth looking at and browsing around.

Good afternoon everyone. A few days ago I asked if anyone had any
information on an Ela Goldenberg who might have served in WW2. I now
think the correct name might be Eliyahu Goldenberg (perhaps also known
as Goldberg) a well known entertainer etc in Israel. I think he cut
his entertaining teeth as a director/producer with the Palestine
British Army Entertainment Group in Italy while serving in the
Palestine Regiment with the Jewish Brigade Group. Has anybody any
information on his military life??

And as always a death certificate

Records for Backa Topola, Serbia #hungary

I have been advised by Antal Kocsis, a local researcher, writer and =
historian that he has come into possession of vital records for this =
town dating >from 1750 to 1806. Many of the names sound Jewish: for =
example, Izrael, Joachim and Moises. He is continuing to work on the =
records and will make them available when ready.

In an earlier post I described his restoration of the Jewish cemetery in =
Backa Topola ( Topolya in Hungarian) numbering hundreds of graves, =
building of a Holocaust memorial and organizing an annual Holocaust =
commemoration. I think the cemetery records are available on JOWBR.

If any one wishes to contact Mr Kocsis while he is still processing =
these records, I can share his contact information. He speaks Hungarian =
