Koenigsbuch Brothers-Kindertransport-Help Needed in NY and England #general

Abuwasta Abuwasta

Dear Genners,
I posted in the past an enquiry about 2 of my late
mother's remote relatives the brothers Rolf and Kurt
Max Koenigsbuch born in 1929 and 1931 respectively in
Hamburg. They were on the Kindertransport and survived
the war in Birmingham. They never participated in the
Kindertransport reunions and we lost their traces
though they are most probably still active somewhere.
Last week I discovered their 95 years old first cousin
Erna Teichteil-Koenigsbuch in Johannesburg through a
wonderful Genners' participation.
On Monday I got an email >from a remote relative of
them who lives in Buenos Aires which reported to me
that between 1969-1970 she lived in New York and that
her father put an ad in a local newspaper looking for
Koenigsbuchs. She wrote to me the following:"and a big
surprise came ,a young man living a short time in N.Y.
he was a journalist and I remember he said he got a
brother in England. This must be Kurt or Rolf.We never
more got in touch with them".
I checked in Birmingham and Manchester and through
most of the normal places and I believe that only one
of our genner brethern ,through personal knowledge,
may put me on track again. I am quite convinced that
they changed their name. There are 2 Kurt Koenigs
registered in NY State white pages. One has a recording
the second is a fax. There are no Koenigsbuchs in all
of the USA(only my cousins Kingsbook in California).

As moderator of this list I have noticed some problems in the
sending out of messages -- I don't get any of the messages although
all the settings are correct.

In order to check the contents etc of the digest I have set my
husband up to receive the digest - and that I do receive.

Now I am wondering if anyone else set to receive "MAIL"
(i.e. every single message as they are sent out) has the same
problem.

I would therefore kindly ask you to let me know if you receive
this e-mail. Just hit the reply button and I will know.

Re: pre-marital agreements #poland

Fbussgang@...

Pre-nuptual agreements were made by notary publics (notariusz) and are kept
in regional archives in Poland. Each notary kept his own books, and they are
not indexed. The fact that you have the date may be helpful. You can write the
main archives in Warsaw [Naczelna Dyrekcja Archiwow Panstwowych, ul. Dluga 6,
skr. poczt. 1005, 00-950 Warsaw, Poland] and ask if notary books for that
period exist and ask where they are located (probably either AGAD or Archive of
the city of Warsaw.) You would need to hire a researcher to look through them.
If the name of the notary is mentioned (is that the Anton Kokhanowski?), that
would make it much much easier to find.

I also have ancestors >from Germany and Alsace, and you
may contact me about them if this is of interest.

Vabalninkas photos and other material #lithuania

Howard Margol <homargol@...>

The Jewish Museum in Vilnius Lithuania has a collection of 140
negatives in black and white with portraits, names, addresses, and
occupation of the entire Jewish population of Vabalninkas. Additionally,
the museum has photographs of views of the city, the synagogue, and
groups of Jewish people, as well as historical material on the Jews
who settled there.

All of the photographs are >from before 1941 and some may be as early
as the early 1900's.

The museum would like to publish an album or a book about Vabalninkas
which would include all of the above. However, a lack of funds prevents
them >from doing so. During the last week in June, I will be in Vilnius.
If there is enough interest >from those researching Vabalninkas, I will
obtain an estimate of what it would take to produce an album or book,
and let you know. We can then see if it is a feasible project.

Another possibility is to create an index of the names in the
photographs, as well as in the other material. Once the index is created
and available on the internet, individuals could send an order to the
museum and obtain a copy of a particular photograph.

This project is not connected with LitvakSIG

Please let me know what your interest in this project is, if any.

A huge work about the ROTHSCHILD family #germany

MODERATOR NOTE: JewishGen, which hosts this Forum, limits our inclusion of
announcements of commercial ventures **including books and other publications
offered for sale** to a one-time courtesy mention.

Therefore, I would urge those who send notices of new and anticipated publications
to time the ** one time ** posting for maximum impact - usually shortly after
publication. Please be clear about the language in which a book is written.

You should try to include information about websites or other sources of

MODERATOR =========>

Dr Henri-Claude Mars, we are honoured that he is a member of GenAmi,
has written a marvellous book about the genealogy of the Rothschild family.
Nothing to do with other books and genealogies already published.
His book called "Le sang des ROTHSCHILD" contains much more details,
links with hundreds of other families, information even about the witnesses
of the vital records, many references. A huge work.
The appearance is very attractive and practical.
There is an important index of names.
