Family research -Hubschman #poland

Charles RAPOPORT <chrapoport@...>

My name is Jeannette RAPOPORT nee Hubschman, living in Lille (France)
My father, Meyer Hubschman, born on 7th of november 1901 in NADWORNA by
those times in Poland (now NADVIRNA in Ukrain), came in France about 1920-
1925, was deported >from France to Auschwitz and then to Mauthausen (Austria)
where he died in February 1945. His mother's name was Chaja (I don't know
his father's name). He had siblings: Jutte, born in 1894, Jacob born in
1899, Abe born in 1897.

I was 7 years old when he was deported and it's why I don't know more about
his family.

I try now to find some relatives >from my father's family. Do you belong to
it? Can you help me if you know other Hubschman's?

Many, many thanks and best regards for you

Urke Nachalnik - Autobiographical Excerpts From the Polish Gangster #poland

Jose Gutstein

I've added yet another in a series of articles on Urke Nachalnik, legendary
Polish gangster, who was born in Wizna, Poland.

This one contains excerpts >from one of his two autobiographical books. He
describes his youth in Wizna and Lomza, and the initial episodes which
impacted his life and drove him to a life of crime.

His depictions are riveting, and the two-bit gangster scenes >from his youth
are fascinating to read.

Can someone translate this document for me? It is part of the
birth record of Golde WEINRAUB of Skala, Galicia, 1902. The first
column here is a description of her parents, Frieda Wiesenthal and
Wolf Weinraub. I think that the last column should be the midwife,
but there seem to be several names.

Hi Galitsianas

Can someone translate >from the German? This is part of the birth
record of Moses Kalman Weingast who was born in Olchowiec, Galicia
in 1889. His parents were Simszon Weingast and Sosie Kohan. I need
a translation of the last column on this page describing his father.
I believe the previous column indicates the birth was "illegitimate".
