Recorded IAJGS Conerence Sessions Ready for Shipment #ciechanow #poland

Stan Zeidenberg

Dear 'Genners..
We are delighted to tell you about a wonderful opportunity to own a set of
3 CDs containing 31 recorded presentations at the just concluded IAJGS
conference in Las Vegas. All this is thanks to Ron Arons and his small
army of volunteers. Ron stepped up to the plate when it was announced
that the customary practice of recording the sessions could not be
followed. Conference attendees as well as those who were not able to join
us in Las Vegas now have an opportunity to listen to 31 of the sessions.

We are making the complete set available at a very affordable $35 plus
modest shipping and handling costs. Shipping cost will vary depending on
the country to which the set is being delivered and will show up when you
go through the ordering system in the Mall. Nothing is charged to your
credit card until you approve, so don't be timid about using the system.
Ron will start burning CDs and shipping as soon as he begins to get the
orders. Hopefully you will keep him busy for the next few weeks! <g>

To see a complete listing of which of the sessions were recorded visit
the JewishGenMall at www.jewishgenmall.org The quickest way to find
the complete description is to either enter the full title into the search
field,
"IAJGS 2005 Conference Lectures in a 3 CD Set (MP3 audio files)" or just
select "Recorded Lecture"s >from the Topic drop down box.
The sooner you order, the sooner you can enjoy listening to the conference
lectures at your leisure.

russian military aid society #lithuania

berggyn@...

I recently discovered Litvak relatives' Brooklyn graves with the
Chevra Kadisha/Burial Soc listed in Washington Cemetery's records as
"Russian Military Aid Society". They said the last known address and
contact with this organization was 1976. Since the cemetery has no one
to contact, and the land in each section belongs to the society, they
have no way to determine if plots are unused, owned, or abandoned. There
are open spaces even in the oldest sections of the cemetery, with no recent
burials in these sections.

Yet, Washington Cemetery has a sign in the office that there only graves
for immediate use and not for reservations.

Any info on the Russian Society would be appreciated.

PUNIA CEMETERY #lithuania

I believe my great-grandfather was buried in or near Nemajunai sometime in
the late 1920s. Would anyone know if there is a Jewish cemetery in or near
Nemajunai (a few miles >from Punia) and if so, who to contact about it? We
already tried Butrimonys, where the family later moved, but there is no
gravestone with his name or patronym.

Thanks.

ROSNER Family From Dabrowa Tarnowska #germany

Abuwasta Abuwasta

Dear Genners and Siggers,
Following my reunion with my 2 first cousins Rudy
ROSNER(b.1920 Berlin) and Reuven Orschutzer(b. 1925
Krakow) I continued my research and found out that our
grandfather Jacob Chiel ROSNER(1866-1942) was born in
Dabrowa Tarnowska(pronounced Dombrowa).His parents
were Rubin and Malka.Rubin was apparently a Chasidic Rabbi.
I found in EIDB that a certain Judah ROSNER(b.1880 in
Tarnow) came to the USA in 1920. He was accompanied by
his wife Gele and 4 children. The 2 youngest were
Malka(b.1911) and Rubin(b.1913). He declared that he
will stay with his father H.ROSNER in NY who also paid
for the tickets.
There is indeed a Hirsch ROSNER (b.1857 or 1862 in
Tarnow) who came to the USA in 1905 accompanied by his
daughter Esther who was 18 in 1905.
I suspect that Judah named his younger kids Malka and
Rubin after his grandparents who may be my
greatgrandparents. Does it ring a bell???? Thanks
