I cannot agree with you/
the first "mem", you are right, means "from" (the full word is MiN, mn), but in no text you can find it with "yod", only M and then the name of the place...

Hi Fran - My great-grandfather also lived in Kodyma, and also had a second wife. They perished during the holocaust. His name was Feivel Zibulsky or similar. I don't know the name of his second wife.

I discovered that the Naturalization index cards (which I found on Ancestry) show the C-File number, so for those people I wouldn't need to request an index

I think Dr. Leiserowitzs’ suggestion is most accurate. In a memo written by my great grandfathers sister (written after the war), she writes that at first they (her parents and siblings) were taken
