Do you have a picture of her grave? That might tell you her father's name. You can ask the cemetery to send you a picture too. She might have been afraid of saying she was Jewish on the manifest.

I am hoping to find someone to translate a Yiddish newspaper article from 1932. The article is supposedly about a pogrom in Slovechno, Ukraine in which almost all of my Greenspan family were killed.

In immigrant Jewish communities of that time, and back in the old country, people remarried rather quickly after death of a spouse, even persons who were 60+ years old. Some more food for thought -
