No metrical records from Kremenchug are known to survive. Records relating to the Shoah, and records relating to the Kahal, or Jewish community between the wars, reside in the Ukraine State Archives

My parents were survivors from Aushwitz and were sequestered in a DP camp in Celle, Germany. They were finally allowed to come here in 1950. Would they have been required to get Visas to come here?

Visas were required for entry to the US beginning in 1924, you could obtain them earlier (my grandparents did, in 1922) but the law requiring them began in 1924. Visas from 1924-1944 are held by USCIS
