I visited Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty this summer and there are the remains of a railroad terminal on the New Jersey side. They have it as a historical landmark. Here is a link.

My intuitive guess, is that these were cousins. In a Yiddish pronunciation the Hebrew name Avraham אברהם (Abraham) often becomes convoluted to Avrum or such like. Sometimes oral family history

Abram and Abraham are both valid Hebrew names. The name of our forefather Abraham was Abram until God changed it to Abraham.
