Hello,
Question one: Rzeszow - in the census of 1921 it is noted as being in district Rzeszow, province Lwow. However, in other publications it is not included in the Lwow province. I need to know to which district and province it belonged to in 1939. Can anyone help ? Question two: in general, is there an available source (preferably online) where I could find the administrative listings of districts (and the towns and villages included in each) for the provinces of Lwow, Tarnopol and Stanislawow in 1939 (or the closest posssible to the outbreak of the war) ? Info (which might be old news to most of you, but just the same): Yizkor books: full original publications, scanned - page by page - (including photos, maps and texts) available online t hrough the Dorot Jewish Division of the New York Public Library, searchable database, by alphabetical order of name of town at : http://www.nypl.org/research/chss/jws/yizkorbooks3.cfm?trg6=A . Hebrew, Yiddish and, for some of them, English sections (which, in certain cases is not simply a translation of the Hebrew or Yiddish but complementary material to the Hebrew and/or Yiddish sections). Rivka Rivka Schirman nee Moscisker Paris, France Searching: MOSCISKER >from Brody, Budzynin, Buczacz, Okopy Szwietej Trojce, Krakow, Lwow), WEISSMANN and REINSTEIN >from Okopy Szwietej Trojce (Borszczow, Tarnopol)

Searching for descendants of Amalie, Rechel and Sprinza NATHAN from Spandau
#germany
Judith Elam
My g-g-grandfather was Wulff NATHAN, born 1802 Spandau, died 1842 Berlin.
He was the son of Nathan MEYER and Taeubchen Wolff JOACHIM. I have Taeubchen's lineage up to the 1400 and 1500's. Wulff NATHAN was married to Emilie HIRSCHBERG (also known as MOSSNER), daughter of Moses HIRSCHBERG of Salzwedel. Emilie is buried at Schonhauser Allee, Berlin and I have her burial records. Wulff's records cannot be found, but he is probably buried there too. As far as I can tell, my sister, my 3 nephews and myself are the only descendants of Wulff & Emilie NATHAN. But Wulff had 3 sisters - Amalie, Rechel and Sprinza NATHAN. Wulff was born after Rechel and before Sprinza. All 4 siblings appear on the Kurmark naturalisation list for Spandau. Unfortunately I have no idea if or whom these sisters married, or if there are living descendants out there. My next step will be to order FHL film # 477288 - Register of Jewish births, marriages, deaths, and indexes for Berlin, Brandenburg, Germany 1812-1874, but I understand this film, like so many, is not of good quality and hard to read. I have had no success with any of the many films I have ordered to date! I am wondering if there are any descendants of Amalie, Rechel or Sprinza NATHAN out there! Or if anyone has any other ideas as to how I might find them, then please, I'd love to hear >from you! Thank you! Please contact direct at elamj@... Judith Elam (born NATHAN) Kihei, Hawaii

(Have ID with you) NOTE: Extra security on entering. Gate is now permanently closed and there is a yellow security box on the left side. Press pound 001 which will connect you to Security. Announce you are for the JGS meeting, then the gate will slide open and close behind you. We are so excited to be able to present Mr. Aaron Bernstein, Southern Director of the American Society for Yad Vashem. His office is located here in the Aventura section of Miami, FL. An added bonus is that Toby Leven, a member of our JGS was assisted by Mr. Bernstein to locate a missing cousin in Israel and will share this heartwarming story. Briefly in her words: For years, my brothers and I tried to find out what happened to my father's family in Europe during the Holocaust. We joined the JGS and they helped identify the town they came from. That was the first and most important step. We tried many websites for years, but in September I went to the Yad Vashem website and typed in the name of my father and the town. Thankfully, a page of testimony had been submitted by the only survivor of the family. I now had the name and address of my cousin in Israel. I learned there was a local Yad Vashem office in Aventura and Aaron Bernstein made the first contact. When I spoke to my cousin, Shalom Rosenblatt, I told him my brothers and I were coming to Israel to meet him. We had a marvelous reunion October 1, 2009. Join us to hear this exciting and heart warming first-hand account of how Mr. Bernstein helped Toby and Toby's account of the reunion. Come and enjoy the morning of genealogy with your fellow researchers. This should be a very informative session. 9:30 AM - Early Bird gab and catch-up time. Guests are always welcome. We look forward to seeing you there to share this with us. Joan Parker, President JGS of Greater Miami, Inc. joanparker@...
