JRI Poland #Poland Marriage entry -Russian translation request

Neil Stone <neilmstone@...>
(this is a repeat of earlier posting which implied the text was
Polish -it is Russian) I have posted two images of my great-Aunt's marriage in Poland in 1889 on Jewishgen Viewmate. I would appreciate translation of this document. If anyone has the time to translate it in full that would be wonderful, but otherwise the essential details of names, locations, parents. This is a reposting as I previously received little response, perhaps due to holidays. There is some uncertainty about the pronunciation of the bride's mother's maiden name (Marnugewicz, Markusewicz, Marigrewicz ??) so any insight on that would also be appreciated. The links are: http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=13261 http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=13262 The documents can also be viewed at http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/LGQC__Eunw16oeMIlzX37A?authkey=3DGv1 sRgCNnV7uzx3eamzwE&feat=3Ddirectlink and http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/lh/photo/zCreFzwGCYZpp0TeTA83aA?authkey=3DGv1 sRgCNnV7uzx3eamzwE&feat=3Ddirectlink (use the magnify button at the top-right if necessary) Many thanks in advance Neil Stone Radlett, UK Researching: LUPINSKI, Siedlce, Poland STEIN/SZTAJNERT, Kalisz, Poland LUPINSKI, Poland/London FUNK, Polangen, Lithuania LIPSITZ, Tourrigen/Riga, Latvia HENRY, Southwark, London CARAS, Iasi, Romania HALPERN, Brody, Galicia MODERATOR'S NOTE: Please respond privately. |

Lithuania SIG #Lithuania Telsiai Jewish Community Vital Records
#lithuania
Deena Berton <deena.berton@...>
Dear LitvakSIGgers,
The Telsiai District Research Group has embarked on translating the Telsiai Jewish Community vital records. There are actually a substantial number of records available for births, marriages and deaths. We just finished and are about to distribute Telsiai Jewish Community birth records 1854-1858, 1867-1875. This data includes 1555 lines. And there are dozens more years to go! Given how large this data set is, it is likely to capture a lot of families >from the area as well. We really need funds for this project because it is very expensive to translate these records. I'm appealing not just to existing members of the Telsiai District Research Group but to all LitvakSIG folks interested in any shtetls in the Telsiai District to join our efforts. We have a great deal to offer though. Most of the time these vital records projects are broken out by location and cost $100 contribution to get the data per shtetl. The Telsiai DRG requires a $200 contribution but you get so much for that contribution. You get data for the whole district like the Internal Passports. You get all the data for each shtetl in the district (we have virtually all the data >from the LVIA at this point and much of the available easy to get data >from the KRA for each shtetl). And you are getting most town's vital records in the district (there are a couple that were funded separately.) All our data is provided in Excel format which makes it really easy to work with. Normally, this would all cost a lot more than $200. Here is how it would normally look: Internal Passports contribution for district $100 Most District Research Groups contribution $100 Vital Records for one town contribution $100 Vital Records for a second town contribution $100 Etc. So, for only $200, you can join the Telsiai DRG and get all the data we have to date for a much lower price. Please consider joining the Telsiai District Research Group today or making an additional contribution today at: www.litvaksig.org/contribute Thanks, Deena Berton Telsiai District Research Group Coordinator |

There seem to be developments on ANNO:
http://www.onb.ac.at/ It appears to me that the Neue Freie Presse may soon be searchable, however, I only found one word so far and that was Neue! I tried it here: http://anno.onb.ac.at/cgi-content/anno?apm=0&aid=nfp&datum=19211009 I have not yet looked at other papers. Celia Male - London, U.K. |

Prague applications with Prague Police
#austria-czech
geneagirl64@...
Hi Everyone,
I was looking through the applications permits with the Prague police under the name of Jelinek...I have difficulty reading the old German script, but I just wanted to ask before I keep looking at the list ... my great grandmother was Franziska Jelinek, b. Jan.23, 1847 in Cernici, a small village. Would I find her and her family in that list??? I am trying to find more about her and if any siblings, parents, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions??? The village is so small, I do not know if any records exist. Any leeway would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Andrea Steckerl Belmont, MA researching Steckerl, Berger (Hun.), Weiss (Gussing), Jelinek (Cernici, Czech.), Fischer (Mikulov). |

#austria-czech
Lance Ackerfeld <lance.ackerfeld@...>
Shalom,
In spite the of the fact that during September we were all very involved celebrating the New Year, the Yizkor Book project continued to be very active and it appears that we haven't been sitting on our laurels (whatever they are..) During this last month we have added these 6 new projects: Kamyanets Podilskyy, Ukraine Lomazy, Poland Strzegowo, Poland Tyszowce, Poland Volodymerets', Ukraine Zychlin, Poland These 4 new entries: Devecser, Hungary (part of the Papa, Hungary project) Nemesszalok, Hungary (part of the Papa, Hungary project) Selets, Ukraine (Encyclopedia of Jewish Communities, Poland) Viskit, Ukraine (part of the Zyrardow, Ukraine project) And finally, we have updated 13 existing projects: Bedzin, Poland Czestochowa, Poland (The Destruction of Czenstokov) - sees the completion of this online translation - a remarkable achievement Dusetos, Lithuania - an almost completed project, which also contains almost 900 pictures - unique in its presentation Jewish Music in Poland between the World Wars Kaluszyn, Poland Katowice, Poland Kolomyya, Ukraine Krasnik, Poland Kutno, Poland - a new rapidly growing project. Lida, Belarus Papa, Hungary - a translation of the whole book was graciously donated Ryki, Poland Sanok, Poland Please remember that all this month's additions and updates have been flagged at http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/translations.html to make it easy to find them. Yes, there is a lot going on and we're not standing still. In recent times, a number of fund raising Translations Projects were added and you are invited to look at this ever growing list and perhaps, help one of these projects financially so that we can continue on adding on to these extraordinary links to our past. http://www.jewishgen.org/JewishGen-erosity/v_projectslist.asp?project_cat=23 The new Translation Projects that were added recently are: Ratno, Ukraine Stolin, Belarus Pinkas HaKehillot Lita - initiated in order to translate as many of the chapters >from this encyclopedia as possible Finally, I am always pleased to hear >from any of you interested helping out in the Yizkor Book Project in any way you are able.
