Shabbat Shalom Genners!
I am still contiuing my ongoing research into the SCHOENFELD line. I am looking for any descendants of the following: Abraham KAITCER (passed on September 9th, 1898 in Dublin, Ireland Hyman KAITCER (son) married to Dina (Tinchen) nee SCHOENFELD in Dublin. Dina KAITCER passed on May 6th, 1916 in Dublin. 2 children: Etty (Eleanor) and Hannah KAITCER: both born in Dublin. Etty KAITCER married Solomon JACKSON of Dublin. Hannah KAITCER married Bernard JACKSON of Dublin. At some point, I believe the family of the Jackson ladies moved to England, particularly Newcastle-on-Tyne. My grandfather, Theodore Fairfield KELLER was born in Dublin. Etty and Hannah (nee KAITCER) JACKSON were his older cousins. I have a wedding photo of one of the Schoenfeld boys in London around 1900 that shows the family. Theodore's mum was Recha SCHOENFELD who married Alexander KELLER. The KELLER family moved to Belfast in 1911. Some came to England around 1920's. Please contact me privately unless your information is useful for the group. Chag sameach. Three eastern European wooden shuls
#general
Joan A. Baronberg
Dear Jgenners,
Can you help us with information on any of three eastern European wooden synagogues? Although they no longer exist, they have an interesting link. We are looking for information and photos of three wooden shuls, one from the village of Suchostaw (currently in Ukraine, near Kopychintsyand Husiatyn) and one >from Zloczew, near Lodz and one >from Zolochiv in Ukraine. The Suchostaw shul was reportedly modeled after the Zloczew or possibly the Zolochiv one. The Suchostaw wooden synagogue was built toward the end of the 18th century. Many tales were told about it, and it even attracted the attention of the Viennese Archeological Society. The Zloczew wooden synagogue (not to be confused with the stone synagogue built after the wooden one burned down)was built in the 18th century and based on the designs of the famous artist, Hillel Benjamin. There are Yizkor books and Shtetlinks for these towns but no further information or photos of the wooden shuls. Thank you for any bits of help or photos you can provide. Joan Baronberg, Denver, CO FRIEDMAN, MESTER, WEISSER Suchostaw, Slobodka bei Strusow, Ukraine

Sara Lynns
My father, Sam died when I was very young. My mother, for whatever reason,
did not make an effort to connect with my father's side of the family. It remained a mystery to me as a child and an adult. I knew little about my father. I began doing research on the LERNER side some while ago. I found some family documents and census records. My local Jewish genealogy group was helpful, as was Center for Jewish History and LDS family history centers, too along with other resources. I found out besides a sister, Sam had a brother, too. I appreciate all the help I've received in doing family research. My mother died (may she rest in peace) nearly 7 years ago. I'd posted on different Jewish genealogy websites and occasionally received an email from someone. However, there was no familial connection.I saw a poster here entitled "connecting with your ancestors." Susan's grandmother or great-grandmother was Native American. She facilitated this workshop as part of her thesis paper. I spoke with her and decided to attend the workshop. We were told to visualize a relative we wanted to connect with. I did not have photos of my paternal grandparents or his siblings. So... I chose to visualize face to face talk with my father (adult to adult). I spoke with Susan again a few days after this workshop. That evening I received an email saying ..."there seems no doubt we are first cousins..." I put my hand over my mouth and cried in disbelief. Evelyn and her husband found my post(s) on Jewish genealogy websites. I had been unable to find further documentation on my Aunt Sara, because she'd remarried. Evelyn and I have spoken a number of times on the phone and emails of course. We've exchanged photographs. Evelyn did not know my father even existed. We recently met. I'm looking forward to getting to know Evelyn, Roy and my other cousins, too. Jacqueline Lerner Aderman

LIVNE - LEBENSOLD in Israel
#general
Peter Lebensold
Can some kind researcher tell me if there is, currently alive somewhere in
Israel, a Schlomo LIVNE (Stephen Morse's transliteration feature seems to provide dozens of Hebrew possibilities, so I've been unable to search the telephone directories myself). Or a descendant of his. Schlomo would be the son of Warsaw Holocaust survivor Jacub LEBENSOLD (b.1913), and grandson of Schlomo LEBENSOLD and Estera GLIKSBERG. I'm guessing he would have been born in the late 1940s, early 1950s. Many thanks. Peter Lebensold Toronto
