Thank you for letting me know and for your help. Abram ben Aron/Boruch KLATNICKI  was Ethel's brother.  We don't know how Pesza SZEWACH daughter of Iosel is related. Where is  Lopenice in relation to Wolkowysk?  Was there a birth location for Pesza?  Was there any additional documents for Aron/Boruch KLATNICKI. 

I have the immigration and naturalization records for Boruch Schewach.  He was born in August of 1891 in Bialystock and immigrated in December 1910. Boruch's last residence was Bialystok. His father Josel was listed as a relative.  Josef's location was Grodno.

My paternal grandmother was Rose (Risha) Schewachs 1884-1939. She came to UK to marry Barnett Cohen (originally Baruch Kunyen) who I believe was a cousin and came from Vitepsk area. Her father was Yitshak Dov Ber Schuewachs. Rose had a sister Kayla who also came to UK and married and a brother whose name I do not know.

The main shopping street in Lodz was, and still is, Piotrkowska, right in the heart of the city. You can see what it looks like now with Google Street View, and you can find plenty of historical photos of it and of other streets in Lodz just by Googling. There are also historical photos of Lodz in the Polish State Archives website : https://www.szukajwarchiwach.gov.pl/en/strona_glowna . And in other Polish websites too. My favorite is a blog called Refotografie run by a Polish photographer called Stefan Brajter who takes photos of Lodz sites now and merges them with historical photos : http://refotografie.blogspot.com/ . (He's also on Facebook, under Refotografie.) I find that it's usually pretty easy to navigate the Polish sites with Google Translate even if you don't speak the language. 

Genealogy Indexer is a wonderful site in which to search pre-war business directories (as well as yizkor books and other sources) from Lodz, and you can often see advertisements as well as directory entries: https://genealogyindexer.org/ .

Has anyone ever heard of this town in thre pre WWI Austrian empire?

My grandfather was a prominent member of the Jewish community in North Adams, but he didn't move there until 1915. He was the temple president, an ardent Zionist, and donated  to the temple his family torah scroll from Ukraine. But that must be a lot later than what you're seeking. The history page cites him: ". . . under the presidency of Barnet Ark, the United House of Israel engaged its first rabbi, Rabbi Irving Miller."

I have a copy of this book as my great grandfather Robert Lipkin was President and Treasurer if the Hope Place Synagogue in 1888, 1899 and 1800

Following on from this discussion thread, I note from the information given in the JC link on the Bangor Community, that Bangor people seemed to have been buried in Green Lane Cemetery in Liverpool.  Would this have applied to other North Wales communities? My grandfather's sister Leah Servian Goldblat died in Mold, in Flintshire aged 26 years in 1894. Her death notice was for Leah Max (the patronymic being Mordecai). I have never been able to find where she is buried and came to the conclusion it was in Green Lane, where many of the records were lost in a fire in 1960. Leah's parents are buried in Rice Lane, Liverpool, but there are a number of other missing family burial sites which I presume to be in Green Lane, for which the records are missing. Is there any hope that the missing grave stones in Green Lanes will be transcribed to provide records?
