{Where can I get a blank] Family Tree Chart?
#general
joannegrosman joannegrosman
Hello,
I distant relative subscribes to Geni and recently I have gotten more and more notices of perfect matches with all details about that relative and their connection to me. Often it is something like 'third cousin once removed' etc. Is there a chart I could download, so I could accurately visualize the connections. At this point it is quite elaborate all the names and how they fit in with my core families I am researching. regards, Joanne Grosman, <joannegrosman@...> researching Grosman,Bocian, Kremsdorf, Czestochowa/Radomsko

Who knows Katharina STEIN, wife of Peter SCHULTGEN?
#germany
p.personn@...
I am looking for any information about the grandmother of my grandmother: Katharina Stein. She was married to Peter Schultgen. One of their sons was Stefan Schultgen, my great grandfather, who was born in 1905 in Thür, Germany. Stefan later lived in Weißenthurm.
There was a big Jewish community in this region. But so far my research had no results. Moderator Note: Please sign your Email to this list with your full name. p.personn@... <p.personn@...>

It will be appreciated if you will assist.
Following the marriage of my great grandparents on 17 Novemebr 1879, a notice appeared in the Deutscher Reichsanzeige on 2 December 1879: Wongrowitz. Bekanntmachung.
Der Handelsmann Wolf Hirsch Wolinski zun Gollantsch und dessen Ehefrau Pauline, geb. Elias, haben für ihre Ehe die Gemeinschast sowohl desVermögens als des Erwerbes durch Vertrag vom17. November 1879 ausge\chlossen. Eingetragen zu-folge Verfügung vom 2, Dezember 1879 am 3. De-zember 1879.
Translation into English: “Wongrowltz. Notice.
The trader Wolf Hirsch Wolinski initially from Gollantsch and his wife Pauline, née Elias, for their marriage, excluded the community of both property and acquisition by contract of November 17, 1879. Registered on 2 December 1879 on 3 December 1879.”
Does anyone know what this notice means and if it was a requirement to place such a notice in this newspaper? Thanks Peter Wollinski Sydney Australia

Glückel of Hameln: Characterizing early modern Germany
#germany
Michael Rubin
Hello friends - one silver lining of our current situation is the many virtual classes taking place online. I'm bringing to your attention one such offering focusing on the milieu of Glückel of Hameln being offered by a historian of that period, over three Tuesday evenings, starting May 5th. Many of us who are lucky enough to find records back to that period are, nevertheless, left imagining what life was really like. This short course can help.
Reading Glikl: Life Stories from a 17th-Century Jewish Working Mother Glikl was one of the first women to write about the Jewish experience and provides a unique glimpse into European Jewish life around 1691. The book, originally written in Yiddish, has a new translation, published recently. The class will be an intellectual book club of sorts, with participants reading some of the book prior to each meeting. Rachel Greenblatt will help to contextualize the information and further illustrate what else was going on in the world to give the writer that perspective.. Click here to register . https://vilnashul.org/events/event/glikl-deconstructing-the-book Note that the event takes place in the late afternoon Eastern US time (EDT). When: May 5, 12, 19 |

Origin of Connection between Tipermas, Typermas, and Typermass families. They came to the US mostly from the Bialystok region of Poland
#poland
My husband's last name is Tipermas. His grandfather Morris came to the US from Bialystok. His grandfather left Bialystok and went to Israel where we think he died in 1911. We'd like to know how we may be related to the Typermass family that settled in NYC. Any info would be great to receive. Likewise, we're happy to share our info with others.

Tiszaeszlar Trial
#hungary
Ivy Gray-Klein
I am trying to connect with other descendants of those wrongly accused in the Tiszaeszlar blood libel trial in 1882-1883, or anyone who has connections to this region.
My great-great-grandfather, Ignac Klein, and his father-in-law, Lazar Weisztein/Weisstein, were among the accused.
Ignac Klein (b. 1843, Hajudnanas) was the son of Samuel Klein and Zuzsanna/Susanna Scharcz/Schwartz.
Ignac was married to Eszter Weisztein (b. 1867, Tiszaeszlar/Tiszalok) to Lazar Weiszstein and Hani Jung. I believe Lazar may have been from Kisvarda and Hani from Saros.
Thank you.
