Daniel,
You can get information >from a very nice Jewish man who works there and is
currently recording and photographing every stone. The work is not
complete, but he will email you whatever he has. Go to the Jewishgen site
and look under the Polish information section.

By the way, there is a family Agatstein in Los Angeles.
He is a famous surgeon. Perhaps you are related?

Sura DANCYGIER - Szczekociny, Poland. #general

Nigel Wilson <wilsonettes@...>

Dear Genners,

I am looking for descendants of the following people:-

DANCYGIER - Sura Ryfka - born Jan 11 1876, Szczekociny, Poland - and her
brother -

DANCYGIER - Hersz Josek born Sept 27 1881, Szczekociny, Poland.

If I have the correct Sura she married a Jankel/Josef GUTERMAN and had at
least one daughter Leja Sara born 1915 in Sosnowiec. Leja was a permanent
resident of Dabrowa Gornicza at the time of her marriage in 1932. Sura's
parents were Dawid DANCYGIER and Rayzl LEWENBERG who married in 1874 in
Szczekociny.

I have no information on Hersz.

If you know that a. the above Sura with the exact birth date is connected to
you pls contact me, or b. the above Sura with the exact birth date did not
marry a GUTERMAN pls advise me asap.

Any information on Sura's other children, on Leja herself, or on Hersz would
be so gratefully appreciated.

I would emphasize that I have a full ancestors chart for Sura Dancygier - I
am only looking for her descendants.

Thank you.

me any direction/guidance on where to search further.

In September my German publisher sent me on a 2-week tour for the German
version of my most recent novel The German Money (Das deutsche Geld),
and I just published a short piece about one day there in Forward:

Samuel Mordechai Weiner/ Simon Weiner #lithuania

Gene Rosenblum

My great uncle was Samuel Mordechai Weiner. Born in 1866 in
Shavel,Kovno Goberna, he moved to Minneapolis and married Emma Levine.
They had one son, Simon. In 1908 Samuel was killed in an accident, and
buried in Minneapolis Jewish Cemetary. Emma and Simon moved to Seattle
where Emma remarried. Simon went to work for the Seattle, Washington
Fire Department. Simon married a woman by the name of Jessie and they
had two daughters, Marion and Betty. Emma died in 1942 and Simon retired
from the Seattle Fire Department and moved to California. I have not
been able to find the two daughters and I would like to make contact
with them.

Can it be Olkusz? #poland

Linda Shefler <linsilv@...>

I am again in need of some helpful input. I had a military document of an
ancestor translated and am wondering if others come to the same conclusion
that I have. The document was issued in 1880 and translated as the
following:

Gubernia: Keletskoy (Krenetc)
Uyezd: Sipusheny? Onpushsky? Olpushena?
City: Oipusha? Onpusha? Olpusha?

I've concluded that it was the City of Olkusz in Opulski Uyezd and Kielce
Gubernia.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or would you come to the same
conclusion?

As usual, I thank you very much in advance for your help.

Have a lovely week.
