been added, bringing the total to 128,000 names. The Bessarabia Duma project is a
listing of all men over the age of 24 who were eligible to vote in the 1906 and

If you do and "exact" first and last name search in the EIDB for Geza ZSUPNIK,
you will find 2 records and manifest entries, as well as 2 different passenger
numbers (101857090197 and 101857070205) for the same person. It appears >from the
first manifest indicates that he was transferred >from Steerage class to Second
cabin.

Questions (and it might be helpful to look at the manifests prior to answering)

3) Is this not the same person?

2) Would having 2 different passenger numbers make sense?

3) Why would such a transfer (upgrade?) have been done? Note: He was traveling
alone and appears to have been to the US before in 1890.


Note: to me this appears to be the same passenger. The Steerage class manifest
appears to have a line through some of the entry (do you agree - I am not really
sure myself), with a notation of "transfer to second cabin" on the line.

Note - For reasons I can't explain, Steve Morse's Blue form will not find these

I will be travelling to Israel for a week(18 - 25 September). I am wanting to do
some research regarding my family. Besides going to Beit Hatfutsoth where else
should I go. I am not looking for any WWII records otherwise I would naturally go

Dear Genners and Siggers,
A few days ago I posted a question about a certain Gunther KOENIGSBUCH which I
located in Bottrop Germany and who died in 1928. It was total surprise for me to
find a Koenigsbuch in that place. Google did not indicate any thing. It was found
through Copernic megasearch engine.
My attention was drawn to a book published in 1993 called "Juden in Bottrop" and a
copy is at Yad Vasehem.
Saw today the book which is exceptionally detailed with a lot of Jewish families
which lived there between 1850-1942.It solved my questions.
Most of the Jews there were >from Galicia and in the 1930 most of those who left to
Palestine ended up in Haifa.

across two addresses. Samuel & Louis MENDELSON were witnesses to my
great-grandparents petitions for naturalization. They also listed their address. I
am hoping this will help in finding someone who may have known them, and then they
may in turn be able to provide me the information I seek.

Louis Mendelson was living at-xxx Cabrini Blvd. New York, NY
Samuel & Emma Mendelson was living at-xxx-xx 88th Avenue Jamaica, NY

That was in 1958-59, and they were both retired. I am trying to find exact death
dates for them all, but in the social security death index there are two many
possibles. I appreciate any help and advice.
