Re: Researching Kohn/Korein #hungary

I suppose you have looked at the AHD which shows Lilli Korein born 1921
in Tapolca as a Bergen-Belsen survivor.

Also the FHL film catalog (familysearch.org) lists films 2091280
item5/2091281 items 1-3/2091282 items 1-4/2091283 items 1-3 as having
the vital records of Tapolca 1895-1906.

Also you need to find out where Jews >from Tapolca and Kiskomarom
attended a synagogue ( use 1877 gazetteer - also available on film from
the FHL) and then check if those b/m/d form whenever to 1895 exist
somewhere.

Good luck.

What we know is as follows:

MOR KOHN (d. abt.1911) married TERESS STERN (d. abt 1947 in
Komarvaros).
They had eight children:
SAROLTA (b. bef 1901); IMRE (b.1912 and lives in Montreal); PALI;
MARISKA;
YOZSI; ROSZI; BOZSI
and IRMA (b.1901 Komarvaros; d.1932 in a hospital in Budapest)KOHN

SHIMON KOREIN (b. Tapolca d.1930) married JOZEFIN Unknown (b. abt

d.1945 Auschwitz).
They had 8 children:
ELIAS ODEN (b.1898 Tapolca d.1945 Auschwitz); ADOLF; SERINA; MARISKA;
ADAM;
TERI, DAVID and Son KOREIN. Most were born in Tapolca.

ELIAS ODEN KOREIN married IRMA KOHN April 1922 in Komarvaros.
They had 2 children:
ROSZI (b.1923 in Tapolca) and KATALIN (b.1928 in Komarvaros) KOREIN.
ELIAS ODEN then married (1932) ADEL POZNER (d.1944 Auschwitz)

I am searching for the family Greenstein/Grinstejn/Grinsten or however it is

went to South Africa. On the SA site in JewishGen I found mention of 2
people with the Greenstein name:

1. Phil Greenstein of Cape Town - he was the shul secretary of the Cape Town
Orthodox Hebrew Congreagation

2. Herman Grinsten born in 04/01/1914. Came to SA through the port of Bremen
