Does anyone have e-mail addresses for any of these organizations? I was told
that these are organizations for Brazilian Holocaust survivors. I understand that there was an influx of Bessarabian Jews to Brazil just before WW II. I am trying to locate relatives who may have survived. 1. Confederacao Israelita do Brazil (CONIB) 2. Federacao Israelita do Estado de Minas Gerais 3. Federacao Israelita do Estado do Rio de Janeiro 4. Federacao Israelita de Estado de Sao Paulo And if anyone can provide a translation of these organizations... Thank you. Any bright ideas? Thanks. N. Rosenshein, Montreal |

In nowadays German there is no separate plural form for Rabbiner, i.e. plural for Rabbiner is Rabbiner. "Rabbiners" is indeed the genitive. But in Yiddish the plural is Rabbiners. HERZOG from Krakow

Sylvia <sylviagee1066@...>
Dear Galicia Researchers
I was wondering if anyone was able to give me some advice. My late father was born Aszer (Uscher) HERZOG in Krakow. On occasion he spoke of some uncles also with the surname HERZOG , who were silversmiths and possibly owned or ran a shop in Krakow. On the Krakow Voters List of 1929 are listed Lazar and Syna HERZOG of Krakowska 10 who were "Handel Srebra" or silversmiths. Can anyone give me some advice on how I can determine whether these two men were the uncles my father was referring to and how I can go about finding out more information about them? Thank you Sylvia Green Australia Researching Herzog, Beck, Mannes, Klipper, Raucher, Malz and Gruner. |
