Edmonton Cemetery London-- Help needed planning a visit #general

Jeff Sugarman <sugarjf@...>

I am planning a visit to the Edmonton Cemetery in London to find the
gravesites of my great grandparents.

Can anybody offer some current practical advice on:
1) how to find the exact locations of the graves?
2) how to arrive at the cemetery >from central London by public transit (if
possible)?

Thanks much,
Jeff Sugarman

Willy ROSENSTEIN #general

CHARLOTTEO@...

Willy ROSENSTEIN, Wilhelm ROSENSTEIN, Bill ROSENSTEIN was one of the very
first pilots in Germany (1908). He served with distinction in WWI 1914-
1918.
See
http://people.sinclair.edu/thomasmartin/knights/index.htm
Rosenstein left Germany and immigrated to South Africa shortly after the
Nazi assumption of power and opened a flight school. Was killed in a plane
crash while trying to teach a fellow German.
His son (name?) became a pilot, also. Was killed during WWII fighting the
Axis.
Where and how would I find details?

YEDINTSY Update (1) re JewishGen Cemetery Project (2) YB (3) Website #romania

ESIGmail@...

Dear Yedinitzers:

(1) Cemetery Project

Two months ago I wrote you all to gauge interest in donating to the Yedintsy
Cemetery Project prior to a separate fund being set up at JewishGen. To
those that responded and subsequently donated I greatfully thank each of you
for your donations. To date to my knowledge, based on the information
supplied to me by JewishGen we have raised approximately $610 of the $775
needed to fully photograph the headstones in the Yedinitz Jewish Cemetery in
what is now Edinet, Moldova.

I now need to ask if anyone that has not donated can help out with even a
small donation I am sure we can reach the funds needed. The below email
posted to the Rom-Sig e-mail digest provides the updated status of the
project. I am awaiting an updated tally of the funds donated as the $610
quoted above is as of April 29th and they cannot provide me a new number for
another week or two. The below email also provides instructions as to how to
make electronic donations. As I have asked previously please let me know
what amounts you donate and send me a copy of your electronic receipts so I
can monitor where we are at.

(2) Yizkor Book

http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/Yedintsy/Yedinits.html

I am way behind but will be taking a week's vacation as of May 19th to
continue working on the translations donated by Eric Cohen for the section
dedicated to the Shoah as well as other sections. I also hope to complete
the Necrology section that has been sitting on the side foir far too long.
We shall see what happens as long as my wife can keep our one year old son
from getting me to play with him.
Yizkor Book on CD Rom - A few of you that received the CD Rom may have
noticed the address of the translated website address on the CD label was
wrong the correct address is listed above. As always if you donate $18 to
the YB translation project I will send a CD rom to you containing the entire
YB in PDF format. Be sure to send me a copy of your donation receipt and
your US postal mailing address.

travelogues regarding trips to Yedintsy or pictures to the website or
anything you think relevant please send them to me at this address and I will
review the content and try my hardest to get it on line (hopefully within a
reasonable time). Any family docs, birth certs etc showing Yedintsy's name

Jane,

"Monkolin" in Polish is written as Ma,kolin. The 'secret' of the confusion
is hidden in the letter 'a' with the attached to it 'tail' ('ogonek' in
Polish). This diacritic mark pronounces 'a,' as 'on' or sometimes 'om'.

A typical for example would be pronunciation of town Da,browa which is
known in the Jewish genealogical circles a Dombrowa and region where
Da,browa is located is Zaglebie ('e' with the 'tail') known as Zaglembie.
