Re: Bobrka District Vital Records

Alexander Sharon <a.sharon@...>
Beverly and ALL,
Bobrka any several other Galician towns (eighty, if remeber correctly) old records are definitely located in Warsaw Archives. Those Archives known as "Archiwum Zabuzanskie" (Over the River Bug). Those are at least 100 yers old dcumenta are transfered to historical Archives - it appears that historical documents should include records till end of the 19th century. "Newest" documents are archived in the 'regular' depository . Address in Warsaw: Urzad Stanu Cywilnego ul. Jezuicka 1/3 00-950 Warszawa, POLAND Alexander Sharon mailto: a.sharon@... From: "Beverly" <bev7@...> My father was born in Bobrka, and when his family emigrated >from there inhear if anyone else does know.would thatthere be any reason to believe other copies exist somewhere else tax records, census records, etc. are available?

Alfredowka & Tarnobrzeg
#galicia
Arnold Hauser <armil@...>
My grandfather (Hauser) and grandmother (Fuchs) were married in
Alfredowka on 8/18/1896. I would like to get a copy of their marriage certificate but beside that I was wondering about the exact location of Alfredowka. I have a feeling it is or was a small town just outside of Tarnobrzeg where my grandfather and father were born. The coordinates are almost identical, Alfredowka....5028-2145, Tarnobrzeg....5035-2141. Your help would be appreciated. Arnold D. Hauser......Researching - HAUSER, Krakow and Tarnobrzeg

GOLDSTEIN / HERMAN
#general
IRSWED <irswed@...>
Hello! I am posting this for a friend. Nathan GOLDSTEIN married to Roza
HERMAN. Lived in POLAND. Died in the camps. Nathan was a Dr. and Roza's family wealthy. Possibly >from L'vov. They had 2 children: Sophie (my friends late mother) and a son who was studying at the time abroad in Med. school. My friend said no one, to the best of her mother's knowledge, survived. She was wondering if her uncle did. He would be around 80. Perhaps someone out there knows this family? Thank-you, Irene Swedroe, IRSWED@...

Need opinion on theory
#general
DREIMAN <m4fab4@...>
Hello all. I'm not sure if this is the greatest place to post this, but my
cousin and I are in disagreement of our Jewish ancestory. Our paternal grandparents were born in the Ukraine (1880's to 1903) Our great great grandparents were more than likely among the Prussian/German immigrants that came into the Ukraine area late 1700. The surname that has been in our family is TRUPP. My cousin has a theory that because: A. This name is German B. Most of the Trupp's we have come in contact with are not Jewish C. We can not find any of our relatives listed as victims of the Holocaust D. The valet that was murdered along with the Tzar and his family was Alexi Trupp. My cousin believes that this man could not have been Jewish and working closely with the Tzar. ....Because of these things, he reasons that the family that came from Germany/Prussia to the Ukraine was not Jewish. When faced with the dissmal situation in the Ukraine, the family became desperate to leave the country. The only way they were able to do so was to convert to Judaism (as Jews were being pushed away) I disagree with this totally. I can not believe that people >from that culture/religion would convert to Judaism As far as I know, my great grandfather born in 1840 was raised a Jew and the family has always been Jewish. Opinions? Thank you! Mirta Trupp Dreiman

EISENBERG update

IRSWED <irswed@...>
I Just received the SS application for Anna BROWDY. I had been told that
she and her husband Mendel were somehow related to my husband's EISENBERGS / PERLEMANS. How we weren't sure. I now think that her father Morris and our David were brothers. This is what we just found out: The paper informs us that Anna BROWDY was the daughter of Jeanette PELTONOVICH and Morris EISENBERG. Anna's daughters names: Jeanette and Sylvia. She listed her address c/o KISS in New Milford, NJ Does this sound familiar to anyone? TIA, Irene Swedroe, Ca. IRSWED@...

I checked the California death records recently put on line for
my grandfather who died in 1939 in Santa Monica, CA. There is no listing. Is this because he was not a resident but just visiting? I have a copy of his California death certificate. Paul Silverstone New York reply to: paulh@...

Barbara <bleckstein@...>
Recently, Anita Citron <anitac1@...> asked:
wife??? >>Would/could the child of a second wife be named after a dead first In my husband's family the second wife was the sister of the first and the first child of that marriage was named after the first wife. Since it was not that uncommon to marry a sibling of the deceased spouse I don't think finding a child named after the first spouse would be that unusual.
