LDS Microfilm for Wasosz
#poland
Steve Levine <gen_news@...>
Greetings to all!
If anybody out there currently has LDS microfilm 0747025 for Wasosz, I have a favor to ask. I ordered the microfilm several weeks ago at the local LDS library, but it hasn't come in yet; and I'm chomping at the bit to get at some information. The favor: Please print out the full record for Marriage #5 for 1847 (Avram Krakowski and Chaja Feyga Burzynski) and mail it to me. I'll gladly reimburse your expenses, and be eternally grateful as well. From what I see in the latest issue of Landsman, this record appears to hold the name of my previously unidentified gggg-grandfather on the Burzynski side. If you're out there and wish to help, please email me at sllevine@... to let me know. My home address is: 12 Old Field Road, West Hartford, CT 06117. Many thanks for your assistance. --Steve Levine

Bone Marrow Registry for Lithuanian Jews in America
#lithuania
DBH12345@...
This is off the topic of genealogy, but of such great importance that we
thought it important to share with you. We know no more about this Registry than is in the letter. I am not even sure what makes someone a Lithuanian Jew. Communications should be directly with Gail Lozier. David Hofman Subj: Lithuanian Jews in America Date: 3/3/99 3:14:58 PM Pacific Standard Time From: PTLozier To: DNH Iowa, DBH12345 I am interested in finding Lithuanian Jews in America for the purpose of recruiting bone marrow donors for registry. Are there associations or synagogues with large communities of Lithuanian Jews in the U.S.? Bone marrow matches are found within same ethnic communities, so a Jewish Lithuanian Registry would help all with similar background. Leukemia, breast cancer, and many other diseases are now being treated with bone marrow transplants. Can you help? Gail Lozier gsloz@...

Jeffrph@...
I am looking for information on my great aunt Mathilde Herbst. She was born
in Zaberfeld, Germany on October 7, 1872. After she immigrated to the United States, and according to family lore, she moved to Virginia where she married a railroad man. Unfortunately, this is all I know about her and could use whatever help you good hearted people could have or suggest. Thanks Jeff Herbst University Hts, Ohio

Hi Randell,
I saw your message today on the Litvak SIG and was wondering if you could perhaps help me with a question I had - is there a listing published anywhere of the villages that were in the Vilna guberniya of Czarist Russia ? If you have any information on this I would greatly appreciate hearing from you. Best Regards, Fred Klein adam1gs@... N. Falmouth, MA
