Translation Request #hungary

Peggy Teich

Hello All,

I would be very grateful if someone could translate the marriage
record (number 5) of Felix FEUERMAN and Marie WEINER on ViewMate at
the following address:

http://www.jewishgen.org/viewmate/viewmateview.asp?key=VM55228

I am particularly interested in the occupation of and any other
information about Marie's father Nathan (my great-great grandfather),
but also interested in the information about the Rabbi (last row). If
someone would be kind enough to translate the entire record (#5) I'd
be very happy. Thank you!

As many of you know, Balassagyarmat has an extremely well preserved
cemetery and other important cultural features of Jewish historical and
genealogical interest.

All of these have recently been placed in peril, and I have been asked
to put the word out regarding this.

If anyone is interested in learning more, please contact me off-list
directly, and I will forward the information I received.

Best to all,

David Deutsch

Searching for SVIRSKIS/SWIRSKY from Mielagenai & Dunilavicy #belarus

Eric Svirskis

Dear Genners,

My late father was born in Dunilavièy/Dunilevich (now in Belarus) in 1915.
Most of the family have the surnames SWIRSKY my family were known as SVIRSKIS at
least as early as the 1920 Internal Passports, Lithuania. I have recently
discovered my grandfather Shlomo Zalman (Solomon) SVIRSKIS was born in
Mielagënai/Melegan, Lithuania (about 95 Km >from Vilnius), in 1881. This is a
very small place, the Jewish population in 1900 being 118 & at the last census
(2000) the total population was 284 .

On Family Finder there are only 2 (other) researchers (now 3!) one of whom is
looking for SWERSKY family. It is Ernest Douglas SWERSKY. I sent him a message
several weeks ago & have not had a reply yet. In case he has not received it if
anyone knows this gentleman I would appreciate you asking him to contact me. Also
if anyone knows anything about my family or Mielagënai/Melegan I would appreciate
hearing >from them.

I have posted this on general Discussion Group & have had some correspondence
with several.

Thank you,

Eric Svirskis, in Melbourne, Australia.

WASILKOVSKY Sister #poland

David Slater

I’m at a brick wall searching for a WASILKOVSKY sister (probably born
Vasilkuv) who likely lived and married in Bialystok, then emigrated with
husband & settled in Mossel Bay, South Africa. I don’t know her first name
nor her husband’s first or surname.

I do know her father’s name was Boruch and that her other 3 sisters all
lived and married in Bialystok:

Neshke WASILKOVSKY m. Jankiel FIKSEL, 1873
Zelda WASILKOVSKY m. Moshe KRAUZE/KRAUSE, 1878
Esther WASILKOVSKY m. Benjamin WAJS/WEISS, 1885

I searched JRI-Poland and South African resources I could find with no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
