for his obituary, date of death, burial info, etc. Anyone know anything?

On another note, being the archivist for the Yiddish Theatrical Alliance, I
am privy to much info regarding the Yiddish theatre. Also, for the past few
years, I have been researching Yiddish theatre and vaudeville and now have a
list of nearly 14,000! Yiddish theatre/vaudeville productions >from North
America, which I hope to put online as a free and searchable database.... So
if anyone need a lookup, write to me with the specifics, and I'll try to
answer your questions.

Also I am taking into my archive Yiddish theatre photographs, records,
documents, etc., so if you have any that you are willing to send to me,

Another month behind us, another month of fervid activity in the Yizkor Book
Project in November. What does this activity entail, you may ask?

For a start, a new Translations Fund was set up for the Siedlce (Poland)
Yizkor book "On the ruins of my home; the destruction of Siedlce". The
project was initiated to have this book professionally translated and made
freely available to all of those with this interest in this community. If
you are ready to support this initiative or any of the others we currently
have running, please go to the JewishGen-erosity link at the end of this
report.

During November, we placed the table of contents of two Vitebsk (Vitsyebsk,
Belarus) Yizkor books to reveal to those people who don't read Hebrew or
Yiddish, what potential treasures these books entail. Now these projects are
just waiting for coordinators to take them on and lead through the
translation of these books. If this community is important to you and you're
ready for a challenge which will provide beneficial informational rewards
for all those people like yourself, please contact me and I'll explain how
we can go forward. In fact, if there is any online Yizkor book project that
you see that has no coordinator and you're willing to assist, I am here to
reply to explain what this coordination is all about.

This past month, we received several translations into Polish of articles

from the Ryki and Zelechow Yizkor books. These translations were graciously

provided by Andrzej Ciesla, who has been doing the same over many years, and
as such, greatly assists in expanding the reading audience of these unique
Yizkor books and we do thank Andrzej and appreciate his unending dedication
to these projects.

Hi everyone,

I'm planning on spending a week in Jerusalem at the end of December, and while
I'm there I want to visit the Har HaMenuchot Cemetery, also known as the Givat
Shaul Cemetery. I have several relatives buried there, including my great-great
-grandfather Morris HEISEL/HEISLER. The problem is I have absolutely no idea
where in the cemetery said relatives buried or even which society they would
have been buried with, only that it was in that cemetery. And I'm afraid my
Hebrew isn't good enough to call the burial societies.

Would someone on this website with experience in talking to Israeli burial
societies mind helping me out here? If it helps, I already know two things:

1. I actually already know for a fact where my great-great-grandfather's
daughter and son-in-law are buried, in Chasidim Gush 7, Chelka 1, Sura 1. I
have no idea if my great-grandfather is buried anywhere near them, but it
might be helpful.

2. My great-great-uncle and namesake donated his body to science and based
on what I heard was buried in a special section later. If anyone knows what
kind of section he would have been buried in, please tell me. Although I
should also specify I'm not 100% sure he's buried here anyway.

Please note that while I of course would appreciate any general information
on the cemetery and finding my relatives, please contact me privately if you
want to make the call to the burial societies for me. When you do, I'll give

Rybnitsa Old Cemetery report. There are two monuments at that cemetery, one to all Jews died
in peaceful time or murdered in Holocaust and the second to the more than 500 Jews >from
Rybnitsa ghetto murdered at the cemetery in 1941-42. See the monuments and more at the
Rybnitsa Old Jewish Cemetery Report.

- Beltsi Jewish Cemetery. 1142 new records with 1121 photos were submitted to JOWBR, and now
we have 3749 records with 2842 photos for Beltsi. The work will continue. See Beltsy cemetery
report with all the details.

2) Two articles >from a blog were added to Holocaust in Bessarabia section: Jews with disabilities
in the village of Verkhnyaya (Upper) Marianovka (Bendery uezd, not far >from Kaushany). I encourage
you to read them... They are written in Russian, but if you click with right mouse at the article, you
can select Translate into English... Translation is not perfect, but still you will get an idea. If someone
wants to create a better translation, please let me know and we will put it at the website.

3) Two chapters of Kishinev Yizkor Book (Jews of Kishinev) were translated " Social Movements"
and " The Pogrom in the year 1903" and now available at JewishGen / Yizkor books. Thanks a lot
to Sheli Fain for her work.

There are two monuments at that cemetery, one to all Jews died in peaceful time or murdered in Holocaust and the second to the more than 500 Jews >from Rybnitsa ghetto murdered at the cemetery in 1941-42. - Beltsi Jewish Cemetery. 1142 new records with 1121 photos were submitted to JOWBR, and now we have 3749 records with 2842 photos for Beltsi. The work will continue. See Beltsy cemetery report with all the details.

2) Two articles >from a blog were added to Holocaust in Bessarabia section: Jews with disabilities in the village of Verkhnyaya (Upper) Marianovka (Bendery uezd, not far >from Kaushany). I encourage you to read them... They are written in Russian, but if you click with right mouse at the article, you can select Translate into English... Translation is not perfect, but still you will get an idea. If someone wants to create a better translation, please let me know and we will put it at the website.

3) Two chapters of Kishinev Yizkor Book (Jews of Kishinev) were translated " Social Movements" and " The Pogrom in the year 1903" and now available at JewishGen / Yizkor books. Thanks a lot to Sheli Fain for her work.

Please see the What's New Section for the details of what we did new in the month of November.

1) We have completed indexing and sent to JOWBR information on TWO more Jewish cemeteries in
Bessarabia/Moldova:

- Rybnitsa Old Jewish Cemetery. 846 records with 766 photographs are sent to JewishGen/JOWBR. Also there are 75 photos of unknown graves available at the Bessarabia SIG website and >from Rybnitsa Old Cemetery report.
