Searching: Robert Templeis #general

Dear Genners
Does anyone know how to find (and can let me have) the email address
of Prof Robert Templeis, a member of the Royal Astronomical Society in
Great Britain, who I noticed is researching a family tree that includes
one *Aaron Aaron (b. London, 1839)* -- an ancestor of mine about whom
I'm trying to learn more.
Looking forward to hearing >from someone able and willing to oblige

We have two great opportunities for you. Both of these are available
through the conference website under "New Registration." Yes, even if
you can't get to the conference, the only way to purchase anything is
through registration. We have to know who you are and we have to be able
to make sure we can contact you if we need to.

1) You can still purchase LIVE! (and you will be able to throughout the
conference and afterwards. the advantage to purchasing now is that you
can view the sessions as they are happening through LIVE! streaming.
Can't arrange your schedule to fit our sessions? No worries - LIVE! for
those who purchase it, is available after the conference is over, on
demand for 90 days - that means you can pick the sessions yo want to
hear (maybe all of the ones on LIVE!) and listen to them as many time as
you want for 90 days.

Check out the conference program to see which sessions are LIVE! from
the conference website. LIVE! is sponsored by Family Search.

2) If you are in Seattle and can't make the conference, why don't you
join us for the opening session on Sunday evening, August 7, and stay
for a fantastic dessert reception. The keynote speaker, Dr. Devin Naar
is sponsored by MyHeritage, and the dessert reception fllowing is
sponsored by Ancestry.com

Both LIVE! and the Keynote/dessert reception are available through the
conference registration. Go to the conference website at
http://www.iajgs2016.org/ . Choose programs to check out what wil be
LIVE! Go to registration and choose "new registration to purchase LIVE!
and tickets to the keynote and dessert reception.

Contact the conference chairs (if you need to) through the website.
Better idea - figure out which department you really need information
from under "About" and then "contacts" and contact the person you need
information >from directly.

See you in Seattle

Re: My Great Grandfather Never Died!? #general

Renee Steinig

Micah Salb <msalb@...> wrote about his great-grandfather,
Joseph Salb:

<<I've found a record about his burial at New Montefiore Cemetery in
Suffolk County, New York... But I cannot find any record of his
death.>>

According to the New Montefiore database, Joseph Salb died on 28 Oct.
1956. It's important to realize that death records for New York City,
where the Salbs lived, are indexed online only through 1948. And the
Social Security Death Index, for the most part, begins in the 1960s.
So the 1950s can be difficult to research online.

The answer lies in the microfilmed NYC death index, available at the
New York Public Library, at the Family History Library in Salt Lake
City, and through Mormon Family History Centers. It lists Joseph Salb
-- died 26 Oct 1956 in the Bronx, age 80. (The date in the cemetery
database is probably burial date.)

It has become very difficult to obtain NYC death records. See
http://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/services/death-certificates.page
If Joseph has a living grandchild, s/he is eligible to apply.
