Hi,
In Lithuania, the Hebrew name Asher (first name or surname) was pronouned
Osser. I would think that both OSSUR and OSHER are the same name.

had to contribute to the publication to even be included. I don't know
how many were like this but enough to not assume

Both are Yiddish distortions of the Hebrew name Asher. Spelling in Latin
characters was not the forte of Jews in that place and time.
