there is no connection between either lajos or gyo:rgy and yehudah, nor does there need to be. whatever happened elsewhere in europe, hungarian jews seem to have been

I believe Halic is jut the Slovak way of saying Galicia. I've seen the "G
to H" change in town names too (like Gataly in Hungarian became Hatalov
in Slovak).
