usually there is an equivallancy of names but in the case of hungarian jewry very often there ia none. jacob

I believe Halic is jut the Slovak way of saying Galicia. I've seen the "G to H" change in town names too (like Gataly in Hungarian became Hatalov in Slovak). Mindy
