thanks for the link. I did not know that information about regiments in Russian Army is now online. I even looked into other Regiments who participated in the wars and found names of Jews

My grandfather Mordechai, called Mordchi on a passenger list, was known as Max in the USA. My brother, named for him, is Mark. As a result, I would think Marx would be another possible
