FWIW, we applied in August 2019. At the time they said it could take 18 months to two years to process. Of course that was pre-COVID and pre-full Brexit - no idea what the lead times look like now.

Thank you for this excellent suggestion. One can imagine RABKA, spoken or written in Yiddish ( ראבקה), coming to be pronounced as RUH-Beh-Kuh (?)...maybe. Looks like it had a tiny jewish

I suggest Rabka, Poland, which at the time was in the Austrian Empire. Search "Rubacca" with the Sounds Like option in the JewishGen Community Database.
