New Chicago Waldheim Cemetery Research Question: Is the Mishna Gemorra Section an indicator of anything?

I found them on the 1940 census, still living in The Bronx. Surname indexed as Max Gnendelman. Wife Bela, daughter Fannie.
According to Social Security records Max passed on
