US... Israel & Feige, (Fannie) parents... . Descendants of Hirsch,
Gershon, & ? male.... Family of ten children- one died as an infant. Six
sisters immigrated >from Riga, Latvia (Shtetl-Smiltene) -1922 to Chicago,
via Ellis Island. Family lost contact with brothers. Eldest sister Ethel
arrived first to visit Aunt, Rachel Goldstein.... . Nephew-Gershon from
Krustpils, Latvia. Possible descendants of Solomon Nechamkin family. If

I have determined >from LDS records that indeed members of my family are
buried at the cemetery in Kriva Olka, almost 100 years ago. (Olka, to the
uninformed, is triway between Medzilaborce, Stropkov, and Humenne)

However, I just received a note >from the secretary of Olka that there is NO
Jewish cemetery, nor has there ever been one. 

I will be in Olka shortly (!).  How do I proceed in locating where the
cemetery was?  Does anyone have this kind of experience?  Hmmm...Kriva Olka
is a suburb of Olka, and perhaps the secretery just doesn't know, or is not
familiar, or -

anything to you, but one of my uncles, Hymie RUBIN, married Blanche
AINBINDER(?) He was born in 1895 in Minsk, son of Julius and Rose
Goldmsith RUBIN. The family immigrated to Springfield, Mass., in 1911.
Hymie and Blanche lived for a while in Winsted, Conn., probably in
the1920s and then moved to Springfield, Mass. where they lived out their
lives. If this is of interest to you, I can give you information about
their descendents.

My mother, Clara (Kayla) Simon (1900-1937) came to the US >from Baranovka about
1923. Her mother's maiden name was WEINBERG. She was "sponsored" in the US by
relatives in Springfield ,MA named KATZ. She lived in Boston, MA with other
unknown relatives for about a year until she married my father. Does anyone out
there relate to this story?

Surely no ambiguity here. It can only mean 4 years and 7 months. The
fraction is commonly used.
