Yes, there were Litvaks who settled in Galicia. The reason was that the

whose family used the traditionally Litvak form of pronunciation in Yiddish
and Hebrew.

national mourning referred to as "The Nine Days".

It is a pity that she added an inaccurate assessment of the degree in which
this period is observed in Israel:

In Israel, because the establishment of the State is widely perceived as
the first step in the redemption of the Jewish people, many of those who
observe Tish'ah B'Av at all fast only until noon rather than all day long.

ALL Orthodox Jews observe Tisha Be'Av in its entirety (unless medical
reasons preclude), both in Israel and throughout the world. The discussion
as to the relevance given the re-establishment of the Jewish State, is

uninformed, is triway between Medzilaborce, Stropkov, and Humenne)
