Yiddish translation and Do You Recognize on Viewmate
#general
Cindy POTTER Taylor <knife-princess@...>
Kind Genners,
I have posted the face and back of a photo on viewmate. Direct URL's are just below. I know that the majority of the rear is in Russian, (photographer's advertising etc) but I see a few snippets of Yiddish. Can you assist me with a translation? The face side depicts a man who MIGHT be on my Koltun side. All photos I have recently acquired come >from the same source, ergo, it could be Koltun, it could be Sandburg. Thank you in advance for your generosity to me and to this entire group. Apology due

Larroyo1944@...
Dear Fellow Ukraine SIG members,
I hope the moderator will see fit to print this. Earlier this week I wrote to thank everyone who helped me find my Troyansky/Wagman relatives, and I realized that when I posted it, I also included a reference about someone who I thought doubted my veracity about the JewishGen Ukraine list. I am so sorry and extend my apologies to that individual as well as to the rest of the group. I have come to realize how wrong I was. I overreacted and assumed this person did not contact me because of what I told her about my writing to Ukraine SIG and that was not the case. Very Sincerely, Lynn Troyansky Arroyo researcher #44353 MODEERATOR'S NOTE: All postings to the JewishGen Discussion Group are mirrored to a usenet group called soc.genealogy.jewish, which can be found on a variety of servers and can be accessed by a Google search. I believe this is the posting Lynn was referring to. Of course, all postings to JewishGen and Ukraine SIG are also archived on the JewishGen server, as well. Postings to the Ukraine SIG are not mirrored on any other servers.

Next Basic U.S. Jewish Genealogy Course beginning May 1, 2010
#romania
bounce-2010745-772976@...
New to genealogy? Not sure how to begin? How to organize? What JewishGen
has to offer? Best websites?....well consider JewishGen's Basic U.S. Jewish Genealogy course, which consists of lessons which you can read online or download at your own pace. The lessons cover the practical aspects of genealogical searches: genealogy formats, assembling family data into family trees, and organizing information. With a focus on internet research and concentrating on online sources >from your home computer, we will cover: U.S. Vital Records, U.S. Census and U.S. passenger manifests (Ellis Island). Thus it begins with your immigrant ancestors and tracks their history in the U.S. We feature an online FORUM where students can post one ancestral branch (one surname), interact with the instructor, set goals and research the missing data. The tuition for Basic Genealogy is $70, however, if you qualify for the Value Added Services by virtue of a $100 donation to JewishGen's general fund within the past 12 months, you are welcome to enroll at no additional charge. Registration will open April 15th; please make a note as the class fills quickly. For more information and to enroll online, go to www.jewishgen.org/education. Students should be comfortable browsing the internet and have 8-10 hours per week available to read the lessons, sample the websites, and interact with the FORUM. For questions please email Jewishgen-Education@lyris.jewishgen.org. Hope you can join us Nancy Holden, Instruction Manager, JewishGen Inc Phyllis Kramer, VP Education, JewishGen, Inc. phylliskramer1@att.net
