Wisznice, Radzyn Podlaski and Leczna Need Your Help! #poland

RobinnM@...

Dear friends:

As summer approaches I'm thrilled to announce that we have just three
Lublin area towns left that still require fundraising before we can get
their indexes added to the JRI-Poland database. I'm also delighted to
announce that Piszczac, a town for which there is not yet any data on-line,
has been recently funded. Yippee!

Due to a recent flurry of donations coming in for Lublin area towns,
please note that these numbers are constantly changing, but all donations
are gratefully accepted and will be applied to the projects of your choice.

Wisznice - Requires only $55 to complete the project and get its indexes
on-line!

Radzyn Podlaski - Requires only $331 more to reach its goal of $700!

Leczna - Has goal of $1700 and still requires $1050.

If you are looking to make a donation of any size to your favorite
non-profit, please consider helping out these three towns. Experience
shows that all Jewish researchers benefit when another town's indexes is
added on-line! Please help us finish these projects!

Credit card donations can be accepted by fax or telephone. Please do not
email credit card data.
Please send cash, bank draft or money order contributions or questions
concerning donations to:

Telephone: (301) 341-1261
Fax: 1-810-592-1768 (24 hours)
E-Mail: ssalo@capaccess.org

Please indicate the town project to which you'd like your donation applied,
and if your employer has a matching gift program, please think about
matching your JRI - Poland donation through that program.
Thanks for helping us complete the Lublin area indexing projects!

Very best wishes,

Berman from Seduva #lithuania

Marlene

I haven't posted to this list in a long time; perhaps there are new people
who now subscribe. I am looking for any relatives of Nachum Berman, feom
Seduva, Lithuania. He was born in 1912 and was a pharmacist. He was killed
in 1941 but we believe he had a wife and child who survived and went to
Vilnius. His wife may also have been a pharmacist. Based on information
I have found online, I belive Nochum's parents were Faivel and Freida
(nee Gurvich) Berman. Nochum also had a brother, named either Yehiel or
Mikhail.

Thank you, in advance, for any information you might have in finding his
relatives.

Cemetery Help for Washington Cemetery, Brooklyn #general

Hi folks,

Am new to posting so I hope this is okay. I'm trying to trace the
names of father and mother of my Great-Grandfather David SELIGMAN. He
died in about 1915 and is interred in Washington Cemetery, Brooklyn.
(And sadly, he isn't the 'famous' David Seligman.) I'd really like a
picture of his headstone (I was able to find one for his wife, Dora,
posted on-line). I do have details on his 'location' >from the
cemetery that I'd be happy to provide to anyone who can go by. I've
ordered a copy of his death certificate >from the LDS people, but I
know that will take some time - if anyone has access to records and
could find that for me as well, I'd be greatly appreciative. I
currently live in New Mexico, and getting to New York for research is
pretty much impossible right now.

Thanks for your help in advance,

Early LANDSZNEJDER documents for Viewmate translation Polish and Russian to English #general

Mady Land <madyland@...>

Dear Genners,
So many people have responded with help to translate the many vital records
I've posted on Viewmate, that I'm submitting one last batch for my
Landznehder family. The tree is really filling in, and I'm trying to
determine the earliest couples >from Bodzanow.

Most helpful is the maiden name of the mother where available, ages,
occupations, other towns lived in, for all.

Confusing to me is that several births have been to "Pinkus" and "Mindla",
but Mindla has had the maiden name "Tylka" on some, and "Lewkowicz" on
others. But ages suggest these are the same individual.

Another group were parents "Ber" or "Berek" and "Laja/Lai" "Wolkowna"
(daughter of Wolek?) or as "daughter of Pinkus". Again, ages in all
instances suggest that these are the same woman. Any thoughts on either?

This group of records is in Polish (the last in Russian), and is the
earliest group I've found. I appreciate any and all details!
