the form of the email was not.

The text in the message "Graves on Weissensee cemetery Berlin" should
have been compressed so that the message was not so long. The Moderator
was holding the message until he had time to remove the excess empty
space within that text. Somehow the message was sent before it could
be recomposed.

Email to our list should *** never *** look like the one with the subject:

of the Lodz ghetto will be remembered during 25-29th August. I was directed

1916 - under 'State whether applicant has or has had any male relatives in arms
for or against Great Britain and Allies during the present war - state Yes or No.
' - the applicant says Yes and gives the name of his brother, then
'For' - in the column For or Against.

It was thought this particular brother had died in the Lodz ghetto but
with this new information it appears he arrived in the UK in the early
1900s. We do not know if this brother was married, we only have his name.

Any information as to where to apply for information be it Liverpool or
elsewhere would be gratefully appreciated.

The MOD website does not as far as I can see supply information on recruits -

There are a zillion Rosensteins and few of them seem to be related.
Is there some way to determine national or international origins of a name
-- or is it simply a maze? The same with Rosenblooms. The more I look,
the more I find who appear to have no traceable relationship to my family.
After 20 years and at 85 I'm becoming rather disillusioned with genealogy.
Do you think time, science and genetics will give those in the future more hope?
