Dear Genealogists,
I am researching this lady who was born in Bulawayo in 1912 and died in Durban in 1995. I am told and it may/may be not be correct that she had a modeling agency. I believe she had a daughter Pam with Herbert Landau. If someone remembers her please would you contact me. I would love to see a photo as I am told she was tall and beautiful. Dear JewishGen Community,
In the past year, JewishGen has been extremely active. We added a unified search interface to access more than 26 million records, implemented a host of new web features, entered into a multitude of important partnerships (including Beit Hatfutsot, and the Miriam Weiner/Routes to Roots Foundation), and added more than 1 million records to our collection. And this is just the beginning! We are currently focused on significantly expanding our content acquisition, unveiling a brand new website and search experience, new web tools, new online classes, and much more! As you can see, we are working as hard as we possibly can - but we need your help to continue and to grow! Please click the following link to make a contribution, and become a true partner in JewishGen's important work today. A gift of any amount will make a real difference. Searching: DMITROVSKY & ELKES
#belarus
Sidney Katzen
The DMITROVSKY and ELKES families came >from Kamenets-Litovsk, Grodno
dist. (now Kamyanyets, Belarus) and left en masse at the start of the last century. In Ireland the DMITROVSKY called themselves Samuels and typically in Israel, where many went in the 1930, Meiter. In Kamenets-Litovsk, we have Hirsch (Zvi) and Keils DMITROVSKY and also Isaac Michael (or maybe Jacob!) Elkes. There are several other DMITOVSKYS in that shtetl, but I can't make the connection. Does anyone know anything about these families. If so, please contact me at sidney.katzen@gmail.com. Thanks Dr. Sid Katzen, Jordanstown, Northern Ireland
