If you're considering a visit to your ancestral town this spring, summer or
fall, and will also be visiting the local cemetery, please consider taking
photos of the remaining headstones for submission to JewishGen's JOWBR
database. As you know, JewishGen's goal is to preserve genealogical
information for future generations and virtually preserving headstones,
especially if they include Hebrew patronymic names, is incredibly valuable
to researchers.

Please check our current Cemetery Inventory at
https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Cemetery/ to see if we already have any
data or photos for a particular cemetery and the date the last update was
done.no point duplicating work. Information on making submissions can be
found at https://www.jewishgen.org/databases/Cemetery/Submit.htm
We request that submissions include complete, or near complete cemeteries,
not just family stones.

If you have any questions, please contact me at mailto:NAltman@...

tradition that he had a daughter, Gittel, who lived in Frysztak and was
buried in an Ohel in the local Jewish cemetery. Does anyone know if
there's any available resources that might corroborate this?>>

Indeed Raphael, the Rabbi was quite famous... Rymanow became one
of the most important centers of theology and science in Galicia,
thanks to the famous Zaddik, Menachem Mendel (Mendele of
Rymanow) who died in 1815; he was the pupil of Elimelech of Lezajsk
and Szmelke of Nikolsburg, and the teacher of Naftali of Ropszyce.>>

I suggest you look at the Rymanow Kehilalinks page...
https://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/krosno/krosnorym2.htm
You will find photographs of the visit, the town, the cemetery and the
tomb of the Rabbi.

You might begin on the first KehilaLinks page for Rymanow
https://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/krosno/krosnorym.htm which has
genealogical information, city directories, manifests, maps, histories,
and links to hundreds of sites.

The Frysztak cemetery is detailed at
https://kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/frysztak/FrysztakAPFEL.htm#FRYSZTAKCEMETERY
There is a photograph you may find interesting... A descendant related:
"... the London Hasidic Bobover community has placed a beautiful
brick and wrought iron wall around the Frysztak Jewish Cemetery to
protect it >from any damage. The community had the cemetery wall
built because the daughter of one of the great Bobover Rebbes is
buried there".

As far as I know, there were no inventory of remaining stones.

Hope this helps!
