Hi,

If a woman was adopted, and was not sure if her birth parents were
Jewish, would any of these tests show any information indicating
origins?

Would they show a possibility of Jewish ancestors, or possibly another
type of ancestor, such as Asian, Irish, German non-Jewish ancestors?

HaKohen, but I have no further details.

north-south >from Angel Road (A 406) to Fairfield Road. It is so small
that most maps don't name it, but it is the second one >from the right
going east >from Fore Street as one walks down Fairfield. Still there
today.

Pipik ( actually spelled Peh-vav-peh-ayin-qof and pronounced Pupik in
some Yiddish dialects) means"belly button" (i.e., navel).

For me too it is a childhood memory. We didn't speak Yiddish in our
Anglo-Jewish family, but my parents used quite a few vocabulary words
-- mostly either amusing or just plain vulgar ones!

My gf Samuel ASHKANOZY was b1874.

I have not been able to find him on any passenger
list for 1888 at the Castle Garden web site.
Does anyone know if they are adding to this web site?

The 1920 NY census states Austria as his birthplace.
He is buried at First Bolechower S. Ben. Assn.,
Maspeth, New York. His first cousin is also buried
in the same area.

Would I look for his birth records listed under
Austria, Galician or Poland?

s.s."Hellig Olav" Copenhagen to Ellis Island, arriving 30th November, 1904.
Perhaps they are cousins as they both give the name of the uncle they are
going to in New York "?. VILENSKY,138 Madison Street, New York.

I would appreciate it if anyone can tell me Mr. Vilensky's initial of his
given name.

I would like to hear >from descendants of Chaim Wilenczik.
