Town - Schwalsk or Dudsiki #general

Barbara Zimmer <bravo.zulu@...>

On a WWI Draft Registration the town of origin is given as "Schwalsk
Poland Russia. "

On his Ellis Island form he states that he is >from Dudsiki

Any ideas on this one? (I tried ShtetlSeeker) but did not find
anything that fits.

I have found records on Jewishgen that indicate some of my relatives were
born in Czukiew 1900-1904 but have been unable to find any pictures of this

Searching SEGAL #general

Mark Budman <budman@...>

Hello,

As a follow up to my original post (below) I might have located Alexander
Segal as the SSDI has a match for this individual. This person matches the
same birth year and month (March 1911). This Alexander Segal passed away in
July 2005 and his last known residence was the Bronx, New York (USA).

Can anyone tell me what would be a good newspaper for this area to check
obituary announcements? Does anyone know of an Alexander Segal >from the
Bronx and his children / descendants? Is there anyone available who might be
able to assist me? (I would gladly pay for services rendered).

Any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Mark

With the release of the 1911 Canadian Census, I have been able to locate
additional names in my SEGAL family research.

I am searching for anyone who has connection to Solomon SEGAL (B 1885), who
lived in Toronto (Elizabeth street at some point) around 1911 (and maybe as
far as 1921) with his family.

Jette Rivka KAISER , Jaroslow, born circa 1850/55 #galicia

a kaiser

Greetings to all,

I am seeking information about Jette Rivka KAISER and
her family, born in Jaroslaw in Eatern Galicia,
daughter of Baruch KAISER, a trader in semi prescious
stones. Jette Rivka was married to Eisig RAGER, who
may have been a watchmaker. Jette and Eisig had at
least two children born in Jaroslaw, Chaim RAGER
1874 and Samuel RAGER 1881. Jette and Eisig may also
have lived in Rzeszow ( I know about the data base)
and very likely later moved to Vienna.

Any information or suggestions for further research
especially in Jaroslaw will be most appreciated
