Kirsten Gradel <kmgradel@...>
I posted on ViewMate another B record >from Gorzkow, LU, 45 km SSE of
Lublin. It is a B record >from 1903 for Lejbus DYCHTWALD, son of the couple from ViewMate 6604, brother of Ester Blima in ViewMate 6605.The residence has changed yet again and I need to know the exact wording here - do they live in Gorzkow? Cadastral Survey
#galicia
Stephanie Weiner <laguna@...>
Dear Genners,
I'm not certain if the terms "Cadastral" and "Kataster" are the same. If they are, then the fee-based Krakow website has generated a "Kataster Database" for documents in the Krakow Archives. Data available online includes: Archives Reference Number, Document Number, Status, First Name and Surname, Maiden Name, Birth Date, Birth Place, Marriage Date and Place, Profession, Address, and Comments. The original document may contain additional information and must be purchased through the Polish group that is onsite. Stephanie Weiner San Diego, CA

Pre-1826 Vital Records of Poland
#poland
Gary Mokotoff (Optonline) <garymokotoff@...>
Prior to 1826 (roughly 1808-1825) vital records were kept by the Catholic
Church in Russia Poland. Starting in 1826, vital records were kept by religion. Starting in that year they appear "Jewish records." That is how the Mormon (LDS) Family History Library catalogs its collection. If you see Jewish Records in the LDS collection starting in 1826 it virtually -guarantees- that there are Jewish records, pre-1826, in the LDS Catholic Records collection. Gary Mokotoff

Dr. Nathan Adler Lodge

Shari Kantrow
Dear Genners,
Please let me thank all who responded privately and publicly to my questions regarding the Dr. Nathan Adler Lodge. Several genners have made two excellent points. 1. Dr. Nathan Adler was a chief rabbi in England, well loved and revered 2. Knowing this 2 distinct lodges have chosen to honor him. The lodges most likely have nothing to do with each other. Although, this probably doesn't help point me in any particular direction with my SCHNEIDER ancestors associated with this lodge, nevertheless, it is nice to know. MBernet@...
I'd like to hear >from anyone who has been helped by the research group
"Juesdische Landgemeinden an Aisch, Aurach, Ebrach und Seebach," headed by Johann Fleischmann of Muelhausen. The area covers former Jewish communities in 14 villages and market towns, 8 cemeteries, 9 smaller communities, and 4 communities that had existed before the 19th century. They are located "under the western shoulder" of Bamberg, between the Main and Regnitz rivers. Has anyone received the 2004 issue of Mesusa, their research volumes? Please communicate with me privately. Thank you. Michael Bernet, New York < _www.mem-Ber.net_ (http://www.mem-Ber.net) >
