Hi Kisvarda folks,
My mother, Erzsebet Klein, was a member of the Kisvarda's women's graduating class of 1919 and a picture of the group is on Viewmate--VM6577. Perhaps someone will find a familiar face there. If so, please E mail me at rose732741@yahoo.com Rose Linden Little Silver, N.J.

Records from Hungary 1943
#hungary
peter bakos <pgbakos@...>
Hi,
This is not about a Jewish family but it is related. In searching for the military record of my father who was an officer in the Royal Army before emigrating in 1914 (good timing) I found the record of his brother who served through 1951 and retired as a Colonel. He had commanded a partisan unit in Budapest >from 1944. In his record there is mention that yet another brother had been put into prison or a camp for helping Jewish persons. This was around 1943 or 1944. When I visited the Holocaust Museum here (it is quite a place and the people are very helpful in finding names, I found five Podvineczes on the memorial wall) I asked about people who helped Jews but they only deal with Jewish families here. Does anybody have any idea where I can find out what it was my uncle did to get himself put in a camp, and what happened to him after? Thanks Peter Bakos Paris

Seek Berlin marriage and birth records without exact address
#germany
Mark Will <contactwill@...>
Hello,
I have run into an impasse in my efforts to obtain the vital records of my grandparents. (1) I would like to obtain a copy of their marriage certificate. They were married in Berlin in 1936. However, I do not know the the name of the district in Berlin where the marriage took place. Is there one central office that I can submit my request? (2) I would also like to learn the best method of obtaining their birth certificates. They were born around 1910 in Neustettin (Szczecinek) and Hohensalza (Inowroclaw). Fortunately, I do have the exact dates of both their births and marriage. Thank you, Mark Will Boulder, CO contactwill@yahoo.com
