If you mean the Rabbi Yoel Feivish SHTENGEN who was the great great
grandfather of the ROKEACH family then find out if the Belzer Rebbes
were Levites. If they were then so was Rabbi Yoel Feivish SHTENGEN.

Looking for Frieda Fishman SILVER #general

My husband is looking for anyone who might know Frieda Fishman SILVER or her
family. We were recently told by another cousin that Frieda would have
lived in the Philadelphia area and would have been related to our family
names Okyen. The spelling could have been (Oken, Okyn, Okun). Our
grandfather Morris Okyen and his brother Harry Oken lived in Baltimore and
came to America in the early 1900's. Their father was Yudel Oken and is
possibly buried in Philadelphia at the Har Nebo cemetery.
Please contact us if you know Frieda Fishman Silver or the name Oken.

Thank you

I am looking for information on Lionel Judah Levi and Lewis Joshua Levi.
I am assuming that they were brothers but they may have been father and
son. Both worked as antique dealers in London in the late 1950's.

Lionel Judah Levi died on 4 May 1960.

Any knowledge of their next of kin or information >from anybody who
worked with them would be appreciated.

Thank you.

There is a great free website sponsored by Maryland Department of Vital
Records that has the death indexes for Maryland and Baltimore.

Through it I found possible WASSERKRUG relatives. (Had I known I would have
looked for WASSERMAN as well).

It is located at http://mdvitalrec.net/cfm/dsp_search.cfm

Dear genners:

I was wondering if anyone new the current management of what used to be
(and might still be) the Chordokover Cemetery
in Proviso, Illinois. I am looking for the gravestone of my great-great
grandmother, and would like to see if it provides a clue about her father.
She was Rebecca Schultz (d. 1949), so I presume the stone might read "Rivke

Thanks,

Mindie Kaplan <rayvenna@...>

I put up a webpage with a list of names, place of birth, and date and place of
death. It's sorted alphabetically by last name.

This has allowed me to connect with several previously-unknown relatives. They
see the name of their grandfather and his siblings, for example, and contact
me. Since there's no relationship between the names, it's meaningless to
anyone who isn't a relative.

INTRO - researching CAMNITZER family from West Prussia #germany

JJBUCKEL@...

Hello GerSig,

I just joined the group. I have been doing genealogy research for about 10
years. I consider myself to be a "technical novice" in doing German Jewish
Genealogy research. I live in suburban California, USA .
My native language is German and I also know French and obviously English.
I consider myself expert in using a computer. My experience in using the
Internet is extensive.

I have identified the names and birth and death dates of 2 of my
grandparents, 2 of my great grandparents and 2 of my great great grandparents.

My primary research goals now are to find out whatever I can about the fate
of my extended family who lived in the villages around present-day Bydgoszcz.
I will be traveling in the area in the spring of 2006 and would very much
like to make contact with an English-speaking person >from the area.

The family names and towns that I am researching are:

CAMNITZER - Zempelburg (Sepolno Krajenskie), Schwenkatao, Suchau (Sucha)
NEUMANN - Suchau (Sucha)

I welcome input >from anyone with a connection to the above. Best Regards,

John Buckel - _jjbuckel@aol.com_ (mailto:jjbuckel@aol.com) Cupertino, California
