Dear Lesley

I am surprised you write that you have found numerous Birth, Marriage and
Death records not available on the JewishGen databases.

I have had a quick look through the All-UK and Supplementary UK databases on
JCR-UK and have come across quite a number of Rosenheims including a Herman
who is buried in Balls Pond Road Cemetery and who died on 5th February 1904
aged 70. This seems to tally with your Herman born c 1834.

I hope that this is of help to you.

I'm hoping someone can help me with my husband's family. His mother was
Elsie Rosenheim, born in London 1906; her father was Willy Rosenheim, a wine
merchant born 1874 in London. I know (>from censuses) that Willy's father was
Herman Rosenheim, born in Bavaria c1834.

Unfortunately that's all I know about Willy's family. He and his family
lived in Hampstead London. I'm hoping to trace Herman's brothers and
sisters, which will be the next step in finding his parents.

On the 1871 census there is a Joseph Rosenheim, also a wine merchant, living next door to Herman. He also came >from Bavaria. He could be a brother, but I can't be sure. I've found another Rosenheim wine merchant, Leopold Joseph - again, they're family names, but I don't know how to make the connection. There was a firm of wine shippers consisting of Herman, Max and Leopold Rosenheim and a Maurice Dunk operating in London and Bordeaux.

I have found numerous Births, Marriages and Deaths of Rosenheims >from the Hampstead area of London which are not recorded on JewishGen databases - all this information and no way of putting it together.

I'm hoping someone else will have the family on their tree and could point me in the right direction to take another step back along the family tree. Or maybe someone could suggest somewhere I could look to progress my searches.

I'll be very grateful.

If you mean the Rabbi Yoel Feivish SHTENGEN who was the great great

were Levites. If they were then so was Rabbi Yoel Feivish SHTENGEN.

Looking for Frieda Fishman SILVER #general

My husband is looking for anyone who might know Frieda Fishman SILVER or her
family. We were recently told by another cousin that Frieda would have
lived in the Philadelphia area and would have been related to our family
names Okyen. The spelling could have been (Oken, Okyn, Okun). Our
grandfather Morris Okyen and his brother Harry Oken lived in Baltimore and
came to America in the early 1900's. Their father was Yudel Oken and is
possibly buried in Philadelphia at the Har Nebo cemetery.
Please contact us if you know Frieda Fishman Silver or the name Oken.

Thank you

Re: Levi Brothers #general

Sarah Jackson <sarah.jackson@...>

I am looking for information on Lionel Judah Levi and Lewis Joshua Levi.
I am assuming that they were brothers but they may have been father and
son. Both worked as antique dealers in London in the late 1950's.

Lionel Judah Levi died on 4 May 1960.

Any knowledge of their next of kin or information >from anybody who
worked with them would be appreciated.

Thank you.

There is a great free website sponsored by Maryland Department of Vital

Dear genners:

I was wondering if anyone new the current management of what used to be
(and might still be) the Chordokover Cemetery
in Proviso, Illinois. I am looking for the gravestone of my great-great
grandmother, and would like to see if it provides a clue about her father.
She was Rebecca Schultz (d. 1949), so I presume the stone might read "Rivke
