Stettin is the German name of the Polish city of Szczecin, but it was not
"renamed": this city was historically German (Pomeranian actually), and
was transferred to Poland at the end of WWII. See e.g. the thread

Were they the first to settle in the South of Ireland?

How do I find marriage records in NY, early 1900s? #general

Deb(orah) Cohen Skolnik

My paternal grandparents, Barnet/Barney Cohen and
Bessie Solutuczkyn, were married in NY (probably in
Brooklyn) sometime between 1905 and 1910, the year my
father was born.

I don't have any records to show when they were
married, but assume that there is some sort of
resource (maybe not online)that might have these
records.

Could some kind Jewishgenner point me in the right
direction to retrieve this information?

I am trying to retrieve naturalization records for my
grandmother, hoping that the marriage date might be
given, and have sent a request for this info to the
Kings County office in Brooklyn that handles this
info. Can anyone advise me whether the four months
delay (due to backlog) that I've seen mentioned is
actually a reality?

Thanks,

Debbie Cohen Skolnik

Searching:

LANDY, LANDE, LONDIN -- Bialystok-Chicago (Tilly Landy)
GARBARSH, GARBAR, GERBER -- Ostrow - Chicago (Jacob Gerber)
SOLUTUSZKYN -- ??Jatyn (on Ellis Island Records)-Brooklyn, NY
Peshe (Bessie) Solutuszkyn Cohen
KISSIN -- Kiev-Brooklyn, NY became Barney or Barnet Cohen at some
point
