I have a copy of his Choul'hane Aroukh Abrege, which is basically a
halachic work, but is not merely a translation of Kitzur Shulchan
Arouch, as the title suggests, but includes much philosophy behind
the halacha as well. The copy I have was published in 1975 by
Fondation Sefer, 140 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore, Paris 8, and is
labeled the fourth edition. >from the forward it appears that he

I am looking for information about a great grandfather >from Falticeni,
Romania whose name was Gershon DER KRIMMER. Is this an actual
surname, or does it mean that he was >from Crimea? Does anyone have
information about Crimean Jews in Romania? When they came and why
they came and who they were?

thanks

Sephardim in Belarus #belarus

Albert <alic99@...>

Anything surprising,
Many Jews of Belarus, especially in its eastern part,
were kept Turkic features, anything the general not having with features Sephardim,
which in Belarus the scanty number has got.
Left to us in the inheritance of features it Khazarian track in destiny of Jews of the Eastern Europe.
The Ukrainian Jewry has kept it to a lesser degree (by the way, here has got more Sephardim),
as its ancient part has been destroyed in days of Khmelnitcina and Haidamatchina (17-18), whereupon to Ukraine was
the big inflow of Jews >from Galicia and other places.
