Aaronsons in Bausk #latvia

Robin Aaronson <robin@...>

I am looking for records of my grandfather, Samuel Woolf AARONSON,
who was born in Bausk in 1880 or 1881. His father was Lazarus
AARONSON, born 1830 or 1831, mother Minnie AARONSON, born 1846 or
1847, sister Annie Aaronson, born 1877 or 1878.

There is a tradition in my family that their surname was originally
HOPEN, but I am not sure if anyone really knows.

I should be very grateful for any clues, or suggestions where to
look next, >from anyone.

thanks

West End House Information of Alumni #general

I am looking for information about certain alumni of
the West End Boys Club, formally on Blossom street in Boston,
now in Allston Street, in Brighton Massachusetts.
Personal information about how they grew up, and their
affilation with the West End House Boys Club is what I
am looking for.
I have tried the Boston Public Library, and the Harvard
Weidner Library and Google.com with out any success.
What I really need is their growing up years, their years and
member ship in the West End House Club. I can get the
usual information elsewere, but what I am really
looking for is personal information.
Their names are Jacob "Jack" Burnes, James J Storrow,
Mitchell Freiman, Louis I Kane, George Kane, and any
other alumni that had a roll in making the West End House
what it is today.
I hope you can help me.
My name is Stephen Field.

Zamosc BOF at Las Vegas 2005 Conference #poland

Shelley K. Pollero

Subject: Zamosc BOF at Las Vegas 2005 Conference

All researchers of towns included in the Zamosc Archive Project (ZAP) are
cordially invited to attend the fourth annual informal ZAP
Birds-of-a-Feather (BOF) networking session at the IAJGS International
Conference on Jewish Genealogy in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are listed on the
preliminary conference Daily Planner at
http://www.jewishgen.org/lv2005/planner.htm#wed as:

ZAMOSC ARCHIVES GROUP MEETING
Wednesday, July 13, 2005
8:15 to 9:30 a.m.
Flamingo Hotel
RENO II Room

Attendees will have an opportunity to network with others researching the
towns listed below, to share information, and to find out more about the
ZAP and Shtetl-CO-OP projects. Bring a list of your surnames and towns (and
smaller nearby towns). If you have birth, marriage, or death certificates
in the Polish or Russian language that you need translated, bring
photocopies (not originals) to the meeting. We will try to help you.

The Zamosc Archive Project is part of the Jewish Records Indexing-Poland
(JRI-Poland)/Polish State Archives (PSA) initiative to index Polish vital
records NOT filmed by the Mormons (LDS). Kirsten Gradel is Zamosc Archive
Project Coordinator. Kirsten will provide a ZAP update for the meeting.

The Zamosc Shtetl CO-OP Project is part of JRI-Poland's initiative to index
the Jewish vital records of Poland in the LDS (Mormon) microfilms. Some of
our Zamosc (and other ZAP town) efforts are already online at JRI-Poland.
Some are awaiting editing, others are in progress. These also include the
Jewish entries in the early 1810-1825 Zamosc Roman Catholic records.

Zamosc is located in Lublin province in Poland (formerly Lublin Gubernia in
the Russian Empire).

The Zamosc Archive contains records for these 25 towns, where residents of
smaller nearby towns may have also registered their births, marriages, and
deaths. If you are interested in any of these towns, be sure to come to our
meeting!

My grandmother Liza Barska Fiszer/Fischer died of typhus while in the Warsaw

there any chance of locating the cemetery where she would have been buried?
Would my grandmother been given a marker or stone?
Thank you.
