Here is the website with the page on the Memorial Museum of the Hungarian

Axelrod Family #yiddish

AdeleUK@...

Can anyone help with this family story.
My Great Grandmother Adela AXELROD born c1870 (married Sholom SEGALL).
One of her brothers (or cousin or uncle) Axelrod was reputed to have
owned, or ran, the first (only?)Yiddish Theatre in Iasi, Romania. Perhaps
the story is exaggerated and he was just a helper, but if anyone has any
info I will be grateful. Perhaps there is an Archive of that particular
theatre somewhere?

Dear Genners,
For long time i'm searching my lost family, till now i have nothing to write
about.
My family the RACHMAN's emigrated >from Kiyev,Uman,Zhitomir circa 1900-1910,

the names i found are:
1. Chane Rachman Uman, Russia 1910 11
2. Yente Rachman Uman, Russia 1910 29
3. Golde Rachman Uman, Russia 1911 41
4. Liebe Rachman Uman, Russia 1910 16
5. Male Rachman Uman, Russia 1911 17

i could'nt find out the family >from the other towns.
(Suppose some writes the name like: Reichman, Raichman Etc')

As far as i know there are many more.

Mostly anglicized their names to Richman and Richmond, which are common
names for Jewish and not Jewish, it makes much difficulties.

much appreciated if you can help to find out where to they scattered, and
who are their descenders.
Hopefully >from an help.

Genners,

I tried to send an e-mail message to the National Library of Ukraine earlier
today, and I received the following message:

The following addresses had delivery problems:
<nlu@csl.freenet.kiev.ua>
Permanent Failure: Other address status<<

What does that message actually mean? I clicked on to the address supplied
by Routes to Routes Foundation website. Does anybody have the correct
current e-mail address for this library?

Many thanks.
