tracing a lost cousin #general

The Freedmans <adrianf@...>

My name is Adrian Freedman
I am trying to trace a cousin last seen about 40 years ago!
she apparently moved to Dublin Ireland with her mother
sinceI last saw her.

Her name is Shirley Freedman Her mother was Milly nee'
Tanchel and her father -my father's brother- Toby who
was a GP in Parys in the Orange Free State in South Africa.
How does one go about trracing family in Ireland?

Perhaps one of the subscribers knows (of) her?
I would be grateful for assistance

Adrian

They are being worked on, but it may be a day or two before everything is
right again. Having said that, just a not so subtle reminder that none
of this is free. Your Jewish Gen-erosity is appreciated. Go to the

Hi Genners,
I'm very impressed with the Kiev Gubernia Duma Voters Lists Database. I
managed to find a relative there, but I have some questions about one of the
names listed for him. Does anyone know how I might get a look at the
originals >from which the data was taken?

Yes, the town that Daniel asked about could very well be
Goniadz at 5329 2245. Goniadz is one of the many
towns included in the scope of the new Bialystok
Region Jewish Genealogy Group --BIALYGen.
For more information about this newly formed JewishGen
sponsored Research Group, see our webpage at

It could be that your "Gomondz" is Goniondzh /
Gonyondzh now called Goniadz.

Goniadz, Poland is 29.3 miles NW of Bialystok.
You can find Goniadz in the JewishGen ShtetlSeeker.

Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry about burials
in B'nai Israel Cemetery over the last few days,
I have located the graves I was looking for with
all your help.

I am now requesting the services of a volunteer

be willing to photograph several of the

If you are willing, let me know and I can

Gen. Wesley CLARK #rabbinic

Neil@...

Addressing a group of Yeshiva students in Brooklyn in 1999, Gen. Wesley
CLARK (Ret.), who recently entered the race for the Democratic Party
nomination in the 2004 US presidential election, is quoted as saying:

"I feel a tremendous amount in common with you, I am the
oldest son, of the oldest son, of the oldest son -- at
least five generations, and they were all rabbis."

Apparently Gen. CLARK's father was named Benjamin KANNE and was a
Kohen. He died when his son was 4. The boy was raised as a Southern
Baptist and later converted to Catholicism. In the article referenced
above, the general is also said to be "close to a first cousin, Barry
KANNE, who heads a pager company in Georgia."

Does anyone know more about this guy's rabbinic genealogy?
