Searching Sydell ATLAS #general

ldashman@...

Dear Genners,
I am searching for children or other relatives of Sydell Silverman ATLAS or
ATLESBERG. (I do not know her husband's first name.) She was a daughter of
Max & Jennie SILVERMAN of Brooklyn, NY. Her siblings included Harry, Paul
and Celia.
I have found the family in the 1920 US Census, which indicates that Sydell
was born around 1900. There is an SSI entry for a Sydell Atlas, but the
birth date seems too late.

Any help will be appreciated, including an obit citation.

Best wishes,
Lisa Dashman

Searching Sidney SILVERMAN #general

Dear Genners,
I am searching for Sidney SILVERMAN, originally of Brooklyn, NY, or his
children or relatives. He was the son of Harry & Eva Silverman, and had
an older sister Esther/Ernestine. Sidney was born in 1918.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Best wishes,

was? =======>

I don't have time to go to the computer that writes 'properly', as I am
leaving for Germany in a few hours. However, I did find my ADAM
ROTHSCHILD "relative". Not through the internet or JewishGen. I went to
the white pages and looked for all the ADAM ROTHSCHILDs in the US. There
were about six or seven.

I wrote to all of them. One of them was the right one, but several others
were very nice and wrote also to tell me they were not the right one and
to offer various forms of assistance. If Elizabeth knows any country her
relative might live in, she might try this approach. One letter
reproduced a few times will do the trick. I have located several other
cousins this way.

Was Nosek her father, husband or both? (viewmate-Polish) #general

Marty Meyers <meyers01@...>

Hi,

I've got a mystery death record in Polish >from the patrynomic era that may
hold the key to a doubling of my family tree and goes back to the 18th
century.

My ggggg-grandfather was Nosek Aronowicz ZYLBERMAN who lived in the
Chorzele/Przasnysz area north of Warsaw. All the ZYLBERMAN >from those
towns have been connected on my family tree going back to Nosek's father
Aron.

I've just found a patrynomic-era death record for a Byna Noskowa (age 80)
where the witness is a Mortek Noskowicz and there is mention of a Noska
Aaroniwicz who may be either her husband or her father since they use the
word 'po' (meaning 'of') which seems to me to be a bit ambigous about her
relationship to Noska Aaroniwicz.

I assume Noska (Nosek) was her husband >from the "Byna Noskowa". I would
appreciate a complete translation that would tell me her relationship for
Noska Aaroniwicz and to Mortek Noskowicz(and anything else that appears
useful or interesting).

>from the patrynomic records extracted for Chozele and Przasnysz by
JRI-Poland, I have found no other Nosek fathered by Aron so this is a very
strong candidate to be the same Nosek Aronowicz ZYLBERMAN that is 9
generations back >from my kids.

Thanks in advance for the help.

The scan of this record in Polish can be seen at

Joseph KATZ from Adelsdorf in the book: The Jews of Rochester #germany

johann.fleischmann@...

Dear members,
Via the Internet I found the following information concerning the former
Jewish community of ADELSDORF:

In the book "The Jews of Rochester" written 1912 by Isaac A. Wile, and
re-published by Zev Moshe Lipschutz, there must be a biographie of Joseph
KATZ, born in Adelsdorf, Franconia, Bavaria, Germany.

Can anyone help me with information or copy of this article?

I will be grateful for any and all information. Best regards,

If my memory is right, I was told that "Chueta" is based on the
word "Jueda" which is "Jew" in Catalan, the dialect in that
part of Spain.

Need help ear matching on View Mate #general

JGLois@...

I would appreciate analysis of "ear matching" by viewers who are
knowledgeable in anatomy and/or forensics between the person in the
ViewMate photo 2832 and ViewMate photo 2833. The photo of
the "Philadelphia ear" is definitely my
grandfather taken in Phila. around 1905-10. The one was taken in
Ekaterinoslav.
If it is the same grandfather, it would have been taken in before 1902.

Could these ears belong to the same person?
